Lang Tools 5529A 4mm X 4.5mm Ford Headlight Adjusting Wrench

The first set of lights I replaced, all I had was a crescent wrench to adjust the new ones as there is no room for a socket. When I needed to replace lights on another Ford I decided to find a gear wrench of some sort to adjust them and discovered there is actually a purpose built gear wrench for this job. It worked great, so much better than a crescent wrench especially when the new light adjustments are so far out. The only thing that would be better is a finer toothed ratchet on the tool, but for the money it's still worth it.

A must have tool for old Grand Marquis and Crown Vic owners. If ya change your headlight assembly or need to adjust your beams then you gotta have this tool. Will literally save you hours of frustration and knuckle busting. Yes it would be better if we could use a screwdriver like with most cars but since we cant, this tool is a must and works great. Highly recommended.

This tool is great for the vertical headlight adjustment. The Lisle 14540 is too thick and will not fit between the between the headlight adjustment screw and radiator firewall and this tool works perfectly. However, this tool does not work well on the horizontal adjuster because the ratchet is not fine enough and I used the Lisle 14540 for the horizontal adjustment. Purchasing both tools was less expensive than having my local Ford dealer perform the alignment, plus I can tweak the adjustment if needed.

I was struggling trying to adjust my headlights. The adjustment piece was in such a difficult location to maneuver. A socket wrench couldn't reach it and a typical 4mm wrench was cumbersome to try and use. Handle to short and unable to find a ratcheting wrench in that size. This is a great tool. It's ratcheting so you don't have to keep readjusting it and the handle is long enough that your able to keep a good grip on the wrench. Very easy to use.

I purchased this tool to adjust the headlights on our 2005 Ford Taurus. It worked perfectly, I had previously used a 4mm combination wrench which took forever to adust them all the way out. I had tried a small 1/4" drive rachett and a 4mm socket but it wouldn't come off the stud after it was adusted all the way out. I have tried channel locks that was too slow and it boogered up the head too much. This tool is the only way to go, it's thin enough to come off the end when the stud is adusted all the way out and it has a rachetting feature that makes quick work of the task. I wish I had ad one of these years ago. it also workd on our 95 F-350 and 97 F-250 headlights.

Product arrived quickly and exactly as pictured. Worked well for adjusting the vertical aim on the headlights of my 1998 F-150 but would not work on the horizontal aiming adjustment screw. The tool reaches the screw but the tooth count on the ratcheting mechanism is not fine enough to catch with the amount you can move the tool due to the body being in the way, so there is no way any adjustment can be made. Would be the perfect tool for the job if this issue was fixed. Does it work on Fords? Yes, just not all of them.

If you have a Crown Vic that you got from police auction, after they remove all the lights and equipments, your headlights may point to the ground. This tool is perfect for aligning them up. First park on a level surface about 25 feet from a wall. With a tape measure , measure the distance from the ground to the center of the headlight. The on the wall, use masking tape to make a line the same distance/height from the ground to the center of your headlights on that wall. Use this tool to raise or lower using the top hex adjustment screw and the lower hex screw moves it in or out for narrow or wider coverage. I usually set mine just slightly above the masking tape and can align quickly and easily with the this long handled tool. There isnt much room to work with in the area but this makesi it extremely easy. Why pay the dealership when you can do it yourself and how you want them. The Crown Vic uses the 4mm end of the wrench, but I am sure this will work with many other vehicles that have hex adjustment screws. Great price and Amazon Prime is the way to go.
