La Costena Green Tomatillos, 28 oz

I usually buy the raw ones, but this ones save me the work and it taste great. It worth the money

These are delicious in green sauces. I use them in a recipe for Taco Bell Green Taco Sauce which they have not made in years.

It's a perfect size for a meal to feed four people. It blends well and the taste is authentic. I love the easy open system.

The tomatillo's are ready to use in recipes. The skins are thin and don't need to be removed. I especially like to add them to shredded chicken. Add beans and it's a one pot meal. I wish they were available in smaller cans. The 28 oz. can is suitable for a family meal but too much for 1-2 people. Delicious and versatile.

I love salsa and green salsa is my favorite. I prefer to go to the supermarket and pick up the best looking fresh tomatillos and roast them or boil them, or just toss them in the blender raw along with the peppers, onion, and garlic depending on what I'm making for dinner. Like any fresh produce, fresh has a short shelf life, so I figured these would be good for emergencies. I'll note that I prefer to use canned tomatillos and peppers to make a quick salsa than resort to the pre-made bottled Mexican style salsas. I've used these a few times already when I wanted to make a quick salsa and hadn't planned on it. Every time I use a can, I buy another one to have on hand for the next time. Just like all other canned food, it's never going to be as good as fresh, but I was pleasantly surprised and will continue to buy them.

Fresh tomatillos are nice but I found the cleaning of this vegetable (it is actually a fruit but that is for another discussion) to be a task, with the removal of the stem, peeling of the outer skin, rinsing of the slimy surface, etc. These canned tomatillos were perfect in appearance and had excellent flavor. Recommended.

Love that these are here! Instead of doing all the work myself, I will use these for my pork chile verde! Can't wait! Also can make it off season!

Love the tomatillos BUT I noticed that you have changed the wording on the ad for the tomatillos as when I ordered it the description was "2-28oz" and I only got one. Guess they covered their butts. I was expecting two cans and only got one and that to make it worse was a dented can.

Cans came in all dented and dirty

As Mexican and living in London, it has been hard for me to find "tomatillos", cause, where I can buy them are really far stores from where I live. I already order this product 3 times, and for this last one, I ordered it last night at 11 pm and it arrived home today at 8 am, I am super surprised about it and happy to be able to prepare my "chilaquiles" for breakfast. The price is high compared to Mexico of course, but compared to other products from here, like salsas already made, the price is lower cause I can prepare two times salsas with this can.
