Question 1

I thought that this product and manufacturer were no longer in existence? Is it new? What about the lens? How about cardboard boarder slides 50-60's?

Edwin you are correct, Kodak no longer makes slide projectors.  Those you see listed here on Amazon by us (Slide Central), are purchased from camera shops and other retailers that still have them sitting on shelves.  Some are still new, though most packaging shows wear so we professionally repackage (to insure they are suitable for gift-giving) and they are sold new out-of-package.  Edwin you will need to read the seller comments at each price point to see the specific condition and what items are included in each package.  To see the seller comments you can click into the "New" or "Used" listings from any of the main projector listing pages.  Then you will see all the sellers offering that item new or used, and at each price point most sellers will list in their comments answers to most of your questions here (ie. if the package comes with a lens, if the package is new, if it comes with the original packaging, etc).All new and used packages listed by Slide Central here on Amazon do come complete (with everything needed for the slide show including the lens).  Many of the main listings indicate that the projector will come without a lens.  Ignore this, it is how Kodak listed the projector many years ago and it is no longer accurate.  On Amazon the best way to tell what is included with a slide projector is to read the seller comments at each price point.  For example, when you click into the new listings our comments will indicate one of three different kinds of "New" by Slide Central:  New & sealed, new open-box, and new out-of-package.  And yes, if it is listed as any of these three it will arrive in new condition.To answer your last question, all of the Carousel and Ektagraphic III projectors will play your slides mounted in cardboard from the 50's and 60's.  A tip:  If they jam in a 140 capacity tray try an 80 capacity tray (some older cardboard mounted slides will usually warp slightly from time & humidity, they will have issues in a 140 tray but will play fine in an 80 capacity tray since it has wider slots for each slide). I have a prime account why does it show shipping charges

More than half of the items sold on the Amazon platform are not sold by Amazon, they are sold by Marketplace sellers.  These sellers may or may not ship their product to Amazon to be sold via "Prime" shipping (they can list on Amazon, then Amazon processes the payment and sends the order to the Marketplace seller, and it is shipped from the seller's location).

Can't answer for the rest, but we have been the largest slide projector seller on Amazon for many years and we can't participate in the Prime program sine Amazon will not allow us to provide support after the sale.  When asked if there was a way we could support these orders Amazon claimed they can provide better support for "Prime" items.  This is, at best, an inaccurate claim since Amazon knows nothing at all about slide projectors.  Their only solution if you need support is "Return it for a refund". what size carousel does the Kodak 4200 accomodate?

80 and 140 capacity trays are what this model projector (and all Carousel and Ektagraphic models) are designed to use.  But keep in mind most slide collections are older than two decades these days, and those in cardboard mounts will usually have a few slides that warp with age (it is natural regardless how they are stored for a few to warp just due to time and humidity).  So to be safe you may want to stick to the 80 capacity trays (where the slots are twice a wide at the slots in the 140 capacity trays).  The trays to stay away from are the 100 capacity (they are made for other brands that are not compatible with the Kodak machines).

What does lens not included mean? do i need this to work? sold separately?

You DO NOT need to purchase a lens separately.

All of the Kodak projector packages we list on Amazon (that are listed by Slide Central, new and used) come complete with everything needed for the slide show (including the lens, remote control, tray, etc).   Many of the main listing pages on Amazon say “no lens included” simply because that is how Kodak listed them decades ago.  We’ve asked Amazon to change them many times, they simply will not change anything in a vintage listing.  Most of the sellers here will include a lens, if their condition notes do not specify then message the seller, most will be happy to reply with exactly what is included.
