Amazing suitcase!!
Have had this for about a year not and took it on a few trips. It has held up well! Color is spot on (black), very easy to use, weight is great as well.

size 10-15% smaller than my older Samsonite roll-on
First off, I am a frequent world traveler with my older version of this roller bag. It's gone from the Antarctica to the Arctic to Canada to Alaska and finally to Colombia, South Amer. just this year. My roller bag is critical to me because I rarely check bags, for many obvious reasons. The old roller Samsonite bag still works, but I thought that because it's simply "old" that maybe it was time to get the new version. To see "frequent returns" of the new bag feels very unfair: I ordered the new bag and it is definitely an improvement from the old one in a number of areas-primarily in adding more zip compartments (it is also a beautifully designed and very lightweight bag. So, my only gripe is that it's SMALLER by maybe 10-15% compared to my current Samsonite roller bag. Every inch matters to me. But, that said, if you are traveling in Europe and in other areas you may find that the smaller size will get you into the plane wherein the larger bag will be rejected as a carry on. Again, I totally recommend this bag, just recognize that it is smaller than the older model by maybe 10-15% percent. this is admittedly a beautiful, well crafted, and light roll-on luggage for carry on to planes. That said I returned it, because my current, older Samsonite roller bag has a noticeably bigger interior space. I believe that Samsonite is paying attention to so many airlines that are becoming notoriously tight in which bags they accept, and especially, smaller airlines in Europe now make it very difficult to get luggage onboard. But, so far, my current Samsonite roller bag (the same. but older version of this bag), is working for me. I would have kept this bag but for it's decreased size, so I reluctantly returned it. By the way, I never buy hard shell bags because they are much more difficult to get into overhead bins and have less flexibility when stuffing items, also they are heavier :).

So far great!
I got this because it has the strap on the back, which allows you to attach it to another bag. I already had the business carryon from the same brand. I didn't want to check something gigantic, but wanted to bring a bit more luggage. I'm very satisfied with how these two bags combine, it feels like it will be very manageable in the airport and give me a little more packing space for longer trips. It is an inch or so smaller than my other carryon in length, which I am not concerned about overmuch in this situation. However, if you are one of those "stuff everything in my carryon and don't check anything" types, you may want to go for the slightly larger carryon. Personally I am pretty happy with the size as my slightly larger carryon always feels a bit over the airline limit and like it will just barely fit in the overhead bin. The inner pockets all seem pretty reasonable. It is a fairly simple, no frills bag, without some of the bells and whistles such as USB that other bags have. Overall it seems like a good value. If any problems with wear and tear I will update the review.

can't wait to use it!
Ok, I haven't gone a trip with this suitcase yet put I can't wait to try it. I am crazy about researching items before I buy anything and I did a ton of research on suitcases in preparation for a trip I'll be taking later this year. The big hurdle was trying to find a suitcase set I wanted that fulfilled the picky requirements of Air France/ KLM airlines. Don't even get me started on their under-seat bag restrictions. I had to decide between hard side and soft side and chose soft side hoping it would be more pliable and not dent or crack like many hard-sided cases I read about in reviews. I like outside pockets that don't take up room from the interior room for clothes. I wanted a USB port, which this one has, and it's located in an exterior side pocket which I think can double as a water bottle pocket. It does not have the new TSA locks that zippers snap into but that was not a bid deal for me as I've always used my own TSA padlocks and they work fine. The extendable trolley handles seem a teeny bit flimsier than other suitcases I saw in stores but everything else seems so sturdy and well made. Note: the wheels spin very easily and smoothly but they seemed to struggle a bit when I rolled my suitcase from hardwood floor to a thick area rug. Once on the rug it rolled pretty well. I also bought the 25" case for longer trips and the carry-on bag has a strap that enables you to set it on the trolley handle of a larger case so you don't have to wheel two suitcases around. The interior is simple but well thought out with a wet bag and other compartments. This is ideal not just for swimsuits and really wet items but for those mornings when I have to pack up items I washed the night before that didn't quite dry thoroughly. There are little slots on either side of the main interior compartment that the tie-down straps slip into so they can stay out of the way while you're packing. Good thinking. The main compartment for the carry-on is deep and roomy. I will add to my review once I actually pack. I'm going to try to pack for two weeks abroad in just my carry-on and my under-seat bag but if that doesn't work I'll use the 25" case. I ordered the blue color which appears to be a medium deep royal blue but in person it's what I call a true dark teal, which I love. In different light it can look like green or blue. I wanted a color or style that doesn't shout out "A woman uses this bag!" (for protection...I don't want to be a target) The two brands it came down to were Travelpro and Samsonite. Both have very good guarantees. It was very hard to find a set from Travelpro that had everything I wanted and since I had loved my 30-year-old Samsonite cases I had gotten rid of last year, and the reviews were so good for the Solyte set, I went with Samsonite. The four stars are only because I haven't used them yet. I really hope to give them five stars in a later review.

Good idea but poor execution and terrible customer service
I spent considerable money on a new piece of luggage and was excited for some of its features. Sadly, the primary feature that needs to work - namely the telescoping handle - does not work. When the bag is empty, the handle works beautifully. When the bag is full, it does not! Unfortunately, I didn’t learn this until after Amazon’s 30-day return policy expired. Apparently, it doesn’t matter if a product is defective. Amazon directed me to Samsonite’s warranty and Sansonite website as my only remedy. Samsonite’s options are worthless. I have to pay to deliver the luggage to them or deliver my luggage to them myself (time, gas, wear and tear on my car) to inspect it. It doesn’t matter that I’ve only owned the bag for 3 months. They may or may not be able to repair it. Since the handle works when the bag is empty, I doubt the repair man will identify a problem. I would then need to pay to have my luggage returned to me or pick it up myself. So, after using a bag three times in 3 months, the handle has never worked correctly and is inoperable when the bag is at capacity. My only resolution is to throw good money after bad in the hopes someone will make it right. I’m not optimistic. Costco would take a defective product back, and it wouldn’t cost me money or effort to do it. I will never buy luggage from Amazon again, and I will never buy Samsonite again. They clearly have lost the idea of quality and don’t understand how a warranty is meant to protect its users from defects.

Love this Samsonite Carry On Travel Bag
Really love this bag. Perfect size for a weekend trip. Packed a lot of stuff actually and was surprised how much fit. Pockets for everything, including a great one for wet clothes or in case something like lotion busted open protected the rest of my clothes from getting wet or lotion on them. The wheels were sturdy and worked well through the airport and everywhere I went. The bag fit great in the overhead bin and I could lift it up and out by myself. I was a little worried since I am not as strong as I used to be. The price wasn't at all bad especially for a Samsonite.

Long lasting and roomy!
3 1/2 years with this bag and it ripped for the first time. I usually check it so for 3yrs of tsa abuse, I'd say its worth it! The side pocket is what ripped, it must have gotten caught on something in the process of being put on the plane. I usually take 4-5day trips and this has plenty of room for my work outfits and other clothes. Its honestly more roomy than you think and for a regular traveler its more than ideal.

Love this suitcase
Love this suitcase. Wheels are smooth. All the pockets needed inside and out. Handle has a soft cushion and the telescoping handles makes life so much easier and comfortable. I have had the 27 inch one for years and I needed a smaller one now that airlines are more strict with the size of the luggage.
