Is this the jelly you make?

Yes, this is the old fashioned kind of jelly in a grid of 5x4 approximately 3/4 inch, dense, brighly coloured and highly favoured cubes; not the new-fangled powdered stuff.The 'recipe' is to dissolve it in boiling water then allow it to cool and eventually have a pint of soft jelly.I buy it for my niece who likes to suck/chew on the cubes, each to their own, but I have made it in the traditional way and produced a layered retro dessert with Angel Delight and Bird's Dream Topping; whizzed it with a food mixer as it was setting with evaporated milk, to make 'fluff'; and recreated another culinary abomination from the 1970's - a lime jelly 'terrine' with tinned baby carrots and peas stirred in.Just a word of caution: you can't successfully add pineapple (tinned or fresh) to this, pineapple contains an enzyme which breaks down the gelatine and the result is pineapple soup.Happy jelly makung!
