Direct replacement!
I had my doubts but it saved my Toro push mower! If you're doing it yourself, don’t forget to spin the flywheel to line up with the new coil and then use a business card or a folded piece of paper to space the coil. After the coil’s tight, spin the engine by hand before you put everything back together to make sure nothing’s rubbing.
