if you're replacing your timing belt) with a new one one so the smaller pin with the triangular handle was unnecessary. Most kit
I found the quality of this set to be more than suitable. Tolerances were very tight (which is good). I used this kit to change the timing belt on my 2004 Jetta TDI (BEW Engine). The crank lock fit perfectly and allowed for no appreciable movement, and the arrow is in the correct location when compared to a VW tool. Once I got close to the mark on the crank sprocket, I installed the tool and pushed it toward the block while turning the engine with a breaker bar to get it to sit right. The camshaft lock pin was extremely tight, and required a bit of fiddling to get it to insert into the hole in the block. If your cam position is off, you will not be able to insert this tool.I only used the crankshaft lock with the bigger diameter black handle. I don't know what the other lock is for. The L shaped pin does its job of holding the serpentine belt tensioner. I replaced the timing belt tensioner (as you should also, if you're replacing your timing belt) with a new one one so the smaller pin with the triangular handle was unnecessary. Most kits come with one.The quality of this kit was better than I expected and I would recommend it to anyone trying to change the timing belt on their 1.9l tdi. Total project time was about 9 hours using the Dieselgeek kit. I had to backtrack a couple times, but the instructions provided by myturbodiesel.com were excellent and very thorough. Make sure you have the following:-breaker bar-16mm socket (my Craftsman socket set did not include a 16mm socket)-19mm 12-point socket.-Engine support bar (bought one for $50 at harbor freight and it worked like a charm)A remote hose clamp plier tool has saved me a ton of frustration over the past month and is a great addition to any tool kit, especially for this project. http://www.amazon.com/OTC-4525-Cable-Type-Flexible-Pliers/dp/B000F5JM0OGood luck! I was pleasantly surprised at how smoothly my timing belt installation went thanks to this kit.

They worked just fine. I would give it 5 stars
I used this tool set on my 2006 TDI Jetta (BMR engine). They worked just fine. I would give it 5 stars, but I had to do some filing to the teeth and grooves of the crank pulley lock in order for a proper fit into my crank sprocket. I was replacing the camshaft as well as the timing belt, there are some other specialty tools required if you are planning to replace the camshaft, google search metalnerd.

Not too bad for the price.
The kit worked for a timing belt job on my 2006 jetta (brm). I used the crank lock with the blue handle. Like another review stated, I had to tap the crank lock into place. It does not come with a cam shaft pulley counter hold tool. This would have been useful for resetting the cam timing.

Good deal, so long as you know they are ...
Good deal, so long as you know they are mis-stamped. If you didn't know they were mis-stanped it could be tragic. Make sure you know where you are supposed to be lining the crank before using.

Looks good and priced good
I still haven't used these tools yet. Looks like they will be good. I have purchased other ABN tools and are satisfied. Hopefully when I use it there will be no problems. Will update later

Very handy for timing belt job
This set was reasonably priced for an item that hopefully will only need to be used one time. Not sure it could handle much more than that, but it's crucial to doing the timing belt on my 2006 TDi. Took a little getting used to but helped us get the job done, no complaints.

Junk
Cam shaft tool does not fit well at all. Had to use mallet to slide it in and it barely fit the teeth if gears. The cam lock is basically a pin, could've used anything else with same diameter.I used it on my brm engine, 2006 tdi jetta PD, made it work but, all engine codes it calls out on package does NOT include brm ,Basically it works but not worth the money. Look elsewhere. I'd return it but it's marred up from hammering it and prying it out because it wouldn't come out.

A tool for use by DIYs, not good enough for professional use
I used this tool on a audi V6 engine,The sprocket holder does not seat plush with the crank sprocket,It does have a 1.5 mm gap where the ends match imperfectlyThe fuel pump tool is to be used only for locking and cannot take any stress on it , it looks like it is hollow , which makes it a second grade tool, and cannot be used as per workshop manual procedure.Which makes it good enough for DIYs and Not so good for professional use.
