Sturdy and much larger than expected!
This is a great climber and much larger than I imagined! I didn't think that it would be as big as it is. 5' tall in the center is just enough to slightly scare my 6 year old, but my 9 year old loves it! I put it together in a little over 2 hours, by myself. I did have a little help from the kids, holding things up and what not. To some of the questions: Is it sturdy? I'm a 6ft 200lb adult and I can climb on it without it flexing a bit. It doesn't move that much either and I don't have it staked down. Does it get hot? Heck yes it does! I assembled this in the bright, noon sun (in the southern 92 degree heat). All the pieces were too hot to hold for longer than a few seconds. However, the kids still climbed on it when I got done. But it will get pretty hot. The plastic grips don't seem to get as hot as the metal poles. It is pretty difficult to put together by yourself, because of the angles that it needs to be held, in order to assemble completely. Also, it took me a few minutes to figure out exactly how to get the sections to fit together, but after that, it was easy. I didn't use the included Allen wrench, but instead used my drill with a bit. I also used a deep socket for the nuts. Overall, I would definitely recommend this to anyone who has kids who love to climb. Even though it says "children ages 6-10," I can see my kids using it until they are around 12.

The kids, and Dad, love it
The outer box arrived beat to death, but that's not for a PRODUCT rating (unlike what so many reviewers seem to think these days.) Five stars for ease of set-up and utility the kids are getting out of it. From the start, the instructions are pretty simple to follow; toward the in it gets a bit more difficult to see what the picture is trying to imply - but the color picture on the box helps out as well. Now, even on colder wet days the kids are heading out to play in, around and on the "spider web," as they call it. Some days they use the hand-holds and rubber bands to attach sheets and make it a place for a picnic, other days they get out there and climb around and get some exercise. The product is very sturdy and the powder coating is pretty good. This could last quite a few years. Time will tell if the kids will still love it, but I can tell you this much, I haven't seen one of these in any of our neighborhood yards; nor at our two nearby neighborhood playgrounds. It makes for a nice "change of pace" for the local friends, boys or girls. So nice to see them using their imaginations OUTSIDE again. Dad has also found that the V-shaped bars make for a really sturdy Chin-up (L-sit if you are tall) and Dip station for outdoor exercise. The top horizontal bars are also wide enough for regular pull-ups (hands pronated), but don't kip because you might hit your head. If you cannot do chins and dips yet, the first level bars are good for easy angled push-ups and horizontal rows. If your legs can handle it, or you wrap a towel or short swimming noodle around a top horizontal bar, you could hang upside down from it and hit some abs. Or hang inside and do knee-ups after your chin-ups. Throw in a $10 speed rope or other calisthenics next to it for more cardio in the circuit and you can have a quick, intense workout! One could also use it for flexibility training if they were so inclined. The only drawback is also a plus - for mowing, it is pretty large and takes up quite a bit of the yard. It is not too heavy to move with two young adults. However, it is nice to have one large enough for our family of 4 to all fit on or under it depending on the use at the time. The lowest horizontal bar level may be a bit too high for shorter 5 year olds.

Child approved
Weโve had ours for over 1 year, so far. We live in northern Michigan, in an area by the Great Lake. Itโs been out in the snow and rain, showing no problems thus far. Reminds me of my childhood at school or a park, it is super โfancyโ for home life (from my point of view, not growing up with such โluxuryโ) ; saying itโs good-quality indeed! I saw a farm that has a little petting zoo and they too have the EXACT same dome! Itโs been out there for over a year, maybe even longer, and still sturdy as new. Of course, always more fun to play on with others. But the dream for ANY child! My literally-born-Deaf husband put it together ALL ALONE, by himself. I didnโt ask him how it was, but he did it. It is worth the money, instead of buying many little things that break or end up lost somewhere, this is worth saving for and investing. My 5 year old has some weak body situations, was in occupational therapy, so this has been a good tool to help strengthen and learn his body. Just use a broom of spiders make their web up naturally, no biggie. One therapist has one for her kids and in the winter they put a tarp over it leaving one section open for like a make believe play โhouseโ.

Nice addition to the yard! **Assembly Tips**
This seems like a well made product. At one point I worked for Lifetime making tables and chairs so I was happy to try this. I also like the color scheme because it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb in the yard. It looks nice. We gave it to our now 7 year old for her birthday today. The kids love it! They are ages 8, 7, and 4. We have only had it set up for the day so I can't speak on longevity yet. Assembly happened without kids around which is good because there was some swearing and frustration. We misinterpreted the directions a few times which made the process harder because we had to redo some things. My Tips: 1. Read all directions before you start to get an idea of what order things are supposed to go in. You will be building sections to start and then assembling them. It is not always real clear unfortunately. 2. A drill with the correct bit is handy. Do not completely tighten anything until the directions say. You often have to take joints apart more than once to add new pieces. 3. The bottom bolts need to go the opposite way of all the other bolts. 4. PAY ATTENTION TO THE ORDER THE JOINTS ARE STACKED. THIS MATTERS FOR STRENGTH AND STABILITY. 5. Before you start the last steps (putting the top of the dome together. Double check everything to make sure it is all lined up correctly. Once the dome is on it will be much harder to fix without disassembling a bunch. 6. The time estimate of 2-3 hours is pretty accurate. Our swing set was easier to assemble with more clear instructions. 7. All that being said we would still buy it because it provides great climbing and fun to the yard. Our girl is over the moon because she loves it, her siblings are also loving it!

safe, sturdy, fun!!
amazing purchase! my kids (5y and 2y) adore this dome. They go up and down all day if allowed. We put a hammock inside and that made it even safer and funner. My only regret is not buying one sooner!

Buy it - if itโs on sale! Kids love it.
Got this during a flash sale and for the price I couldnโt resist. Other climbers are closer to $400 and ours was under $200. Shipping updates were slow to post. No shipping notification was given for about 4 days. I was worried the item was out of stock but finally got a tracking number. Once it shipped it arrived in two days. One heavy box was delivered by a large amazon truck with a dolly to roll. Once they place it on the ground youโll need two people to move. It is a smaller sized box considering how much is in it, but so heavy. You could store the box easily in a garage to assemble later. (About the size of a small kitchen table and only maybe 10 inches tall). I have experience with large packages missing pieces so I opened immediately and took inventory. Everything was in the box and poles were already packaged together. Each pole has a sticker to identify. But like other reviews- the labels are confusing. GAW, CAD, GAX. Why not label pieces AA, L2 etc. something different and not so similar. I mixed up two bolts because they are GAU and GAX. I had read from other reviewers that this could mostly be done solo if necessary- so I decided I was up for a challenge. Made all five โfacesโ (order matters and directions are a bit confusing so I had to rebuild to faces a few times). Then I used a tree to connect the first two faces together. You do have to in screw and re stack poles as you are attaching more pieces so even when it says tighten completely-DONT. Youโll hate yourself. Hand tighten. (Only accept ion being the initial โfacesโ. If you donโt tighten those fully, when you lift up the panels the poles will fall down.) After two panels it starts to get awkward. So I changed assembly a bit to build more of the base so that it would not cave in. In a perfect world youโd have three adults or two adults and a kid. One to assemble, one adult to hold and someone else to be a runner . Iโd say the hardest part was the very top. The directions for this step were particularly vague and the order was hard to figure out feom small print black and white pictures. Assembled it looks great. Happy with the green and white and not the primary colors. It blends in so nicely you almost canโt see it- which is what I wanted. Cons; it does get hot when in the sun. Like you canโt play on it. Yesterday was 100 degrees with the heat index and full sun- I couldnโt even grab a few poles at moments. The poles can easily scratch. Some appear to have rubbed on each other in packaging and Iโm not sure if these will rust first or not. The ends should have all been rubber dipped to help prevent rusting on these smaller pieces. There should have been โfeetโ or even numbs on the bottom poles to be on the ground. Right now itโs ever so slightly unbalanced and doesnโt lay flat on the ground (no one is putting this on leveled concrete). We tried loosening poles and re tightening but it didnโt help. Pros; love the green and brown. Kids LOVE it. Good price. For one person about four hours of assembling which isnโt terrible. I want to see how it holds up to Midwest winter. Also concerned with our lawn guys hitting it with a weed whip so Iโm not sure how weโll handle that.

Solid, Sturdy and Loved by Kids - Be Sure to Have Help For Assembly
Similar to other Lifetime products, this GeoDome will not disappoint. It is solid and made with quality materials. Within seconds of seeing it the kids were all over it and having a great time. The footprint is large so make sure that you have the space, but if you do, then go for it. I would say that the price point is great (I would probably pay upwards of $250 for it based on the quality, size and sturdiness) and worth the investment. Be prepared to spend 2-3 hours assembling the GeoDome (**Tip** - Have a pair of locking pliers or locking clamps ready as it will save you so much headache and your hands so much cramping when assembling some of the multi-tube connections). The only other tool needed that you might not have on hand is a long 1/2" socket for securing the hand grasps. The assembly process would definitely be much more difficult if you tried to assemble alone, but with one helper it is not too bad. Make sure to read instructions and pay attention to the *asterisk at the bottom as the have some key pieces of information.

So much fun!
This climber is amazing and very sturdy. We have all climbed this thing and it has no issue holding an adult. We added a swing to the middle based on some of the reviews and itโs my 6 year old favorite! We planned to hook it in the ground, but after building it, I donโt see the need. It does not move! I added several inches of mulch underneath for safety, but my clumsy child has not fallen yet. The only issue was building it - this was the biggest pain to build. Made building my fence seem like a piece of cake. The bottom bolts are very hard to attach with the washers because they are so short and you have to push the bars together very tightly to even try and attach the nut to the bolt (took me several tries before I was successful). The directions also are not as good as they should be and somewhat confusing. But now that itโs built, the kids love it! They play inside it and on it. Very glad we got this one too because itโs a great size and will last us for a long time. My 3 year old is close to being able to climb it (heโs also very short though) and my 6 yr old had no issue (and sheโs small for her age too).

Good value, kids love it, fixings a little poor
Got this for our 4 and 6 year old and they absolutely love it. Great open ended play for hours on end, lots of exercise and building strength/balance etc. It's very sturdy, and heavy, which means it's pretty permenant where it's constructed (I can drag it around the lawn to mow round it, but that's about it) Bear in mind this is made of steel and is thus very heavy (and strong), so get the delivery people to deliver to where you want it. There are a lot of poles and fixings, and they all look very similar so it does take a bit of concentration to make sure you're outting it together correctly. The only thing I was a bit disappointed by was the quality of some of the bolts. During the construction two of the bolts broke. Fortunately there are spares in the pack, but it does highlight that the fixings are a bit low quality. All in all, good climbing frame!

Impressive climbing dome that lasts
Firstly the box is very heavy and needs some man handling to get it out into the garden after delivery. The instructions are clear and easy to understand and the poles are individually labelled. I would suggest a 2 hour build time and it can be achieved on your own with something to support it as you build (I used 2 deck chairs!) , but its much easier with help. When its built it is very sturdy. It easily holds 2 adults without any sign of stress or bending of poles so 6 children should be no problem. The height is just right and its actually quite impressive. This climbing was a huge success with our children and gets player on regularly. We even have some old tarpaulins that they place over it and turn it into a large den. I can see this dome lasting us for quite some time.

Brilliant Climbing frame!
Its so Easy to put together. Just sort out the nuts and bolts and poles and follow the instruction manual. Its took 2 of us just over 2 hours to put together. The only thing we had to borrow from a neighbour was the socket wrench to attach the climbing holds. Our garden is on a slope so i researched a lot on the best climbing frame for us. Im so very happy with my choice. Because of its structure the weight is evenly distributed and it sits firmly on the ground without anchors. We stole the idea from another reviewer on here and added a disc swing in the middle, and the kids LOVE it. We have also attached an 8ft slide (with stong climbing rope) to the top horizontal bar. This works for us as our garden is on a slope and the slide faces up the slope which adds a bit more stability to it, so its possible but you do it at your own risk. Our kids are 6 and 8 and i can see this getting years more use. The climbing frame is fantastic, versatile and very well made. Plus its a reasonable price for the years of fun youll get from it. Id recommend it to anyone. Im happy and the kids happy. ๐๐๐
