Made In Abyss BLU-RAY Standard Edition [2019]

Bought this for my kids (5 and 7) to watch because it looked like such a pretty cartoon. Like studio ghibli films.Ignored the age certificate because it was probably there for emotional scenes of love and loss. Like the land before time.I f***ed up.This is not a kids program. I left them to it until I walked in on the scene where a little girl is turned to goo.Watching back on it, it has nutidy too!It turned out to be a great watch! Just don't traumatise your children with it.

Happy it came as quick as it did, however wasn't happy that the discs in the case rattled. Upon removing the sealing found one of the discs scratched. When paying for new I find this disappointing. Seems to run well so far but full-price and 'new' should be of better quality.As for the show, saw it way before this purchase, as well as very caught up with the manga. Season 1 is a near perfect package of story-telling, character growth, and artistic beautiful.A series I find of comparison is Hunter X Hunter. Despite its adorable facade, it's not for the faint of heart. Abyss can be very graphic and punches the feels quite often. I love it, yet understand it's not for everyone.You have been prepped/ warned.

I'm still got a way to finishing this but it's a great series so far.

Made in Abyss was a title I was drawn to via the artwork I saw in a Anime magazine and after reading various reviews on several sites I decided to buy it. I was really glad I did, as it was/is one of the best Anime series I have seen in a long time. The story is unfolds at a nice pace as we follow our two lead characters as they journey down into the abyss and learn more & more about their back-stories and reasons for their grand adventure. The Blu-ray transfer looked crisp and sharp on my TV and the music is some of the best to be heard on any series. All in all I would highly recommend this series - even though it does end without concluding (but I heard a full length movie is coming out in 2020 that should finish the story). Made in Abyss is a much buy!

I didnt really enjoy this. Its far too overrated. Bar the last few episodes it was very average. It just seemed to go on forever with lots of bloat. The one thing I loved was the soundtrack it was brilliant. Unfortunatly this ranks as one of the weakest animes I've ever watched.
