Basting Tape, Double Faced, 3/8" x 50 Yard Roll

Works like a charm. A little more time consuming that pinning but works so much better and in the end it will save time from ripping out seams and redoing because the fabric shifted. Sewing some outdoor fabric (so it’s heavier) with stripes and need to match the stripes where the sides, top and bottom meet with cording in between. The cushions came together without frustrations. The 3/8 doesn’t interfere with the needle for a 1/2 inch seam.

This basting tape is the answer for difficult sewing projects. I was making a University of Washington large cushion cover and this tape let me sew without using every pin in my arsenal! It cut my sewing time in half as I used very few pins and all the layers held together. I did notice some stickiness on my sewing machine needle at times, so I used an alcohol gauze wipe to remove it from the machine needle, for ease of sewing. While stitching one area, I found I had to sew continuously through an alcohol gauze strip so the thread would not keep breaking. I am an occasional sewer, so maybe someone else has found an easier solution when this problem occurs. I did have long seams and did sew rather rapidly, so maybe that added to the “GUMMING”.

Very sticky, works well if you need that, didn’t need that iron on stuff, this works for fabric binding. Took a very long time to get.

I used this tape to make some vinyl handbag strap connectors. I stopped after taping them, and left them overnight to sew later. They were not fully adhered, I had to repress them.

I have bought this tape several times. The last 2 shipments was not good. Packed in a bag and the tape was folded, crunched and one was soved out in te middle. Like the tape..will consider another supplier for the next purchase

Worked good on a sunbrella fabric for a boat project. I would buy again.

I used this on a boat bimini top only to find out after a few weeks the glue was bleeding out around the stitches. It was most obvious because the fabric was beige and now it has dark brown tracks and the stitching is discolouring. No problem with it sticking to sunbrella and zippers. Very difficult to get off if you make a mistake. I won't be using this product again.
