Puig 4051W Clear Performance Tank Pad

So far so good!! looks great and seems well made. I let my bike and tank protector sit outside in 95 degrees for one hour. this protector has to be installed correctly, just cant remove it from the backing and apply it all at once. one must stick one end on the tank and slowly peel back the backing as you work the protector into the tank, removing air, working your way to the other end. do this and you will not have bubbles. I bought the clear and have zero bubbles!! some reviewers stating problems with it sticking, ends coming up. well so far it looks well stuck on the tank but time will tell. if I notice that happening within my return window its going back. Why did you pick this product vs others?: brand name

Looks great! Placed on a 2025 triumph trident. I cleaned the tank well with rubbing alcohol, and warmed up the area with the hairdryer prior to applying. I applied a small section at a time rubbing it down using the rounded side of my scraper to get any air bubbles out from under it. I used the rounded side of the scraper so I didn’t damage the appliqué. I lined up the protector with the paper still on, and when it was straight and where I wanted it to be, I pulled back a small amount of the paper to expose the sticky portion on the first section. Each small section I made sure that it was firmly rubbed down before moving on to the next section. Did this technique because of all of the advice in the comments said this made the best adhesion to keep the edges from peeling up. Good luck! Great protection for my 2024 Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R 40th anniversary edition! Grips well and it securely on there. Had it on for a few months now. Held up well! Fit is spot on. Great value for a clear view to see that paint job.

Just installed this on my 2020 Ninja 400. Previous owner put one of those cheap ones from eBay and it looked and felt terrible. This is a huge upgrade from that. Don’t waste your money on the cheap unbranded ones. The adhesive seemed to work well, stuck really good to the gas tank. I used alcohol to remove all the wax and fingerprints. Any spots you may see in the photos is just dust. There are no cosmetic flaws on the product. Make sure to apply slowly and work the air bubbles out. Or else dirt will find it’s way up there and it will slowly start coming off. It looks great paired with my NightCat overlay stickers on my gas cap. Definitely pick that up too! Way better than the plain gas cap. No problems or complaints with this product.

Mine had a tiny black spot under the adhesive at the edge. I tried to pick it out and made it worse. The instructions stink. And mine is on but off 1/8" at the top. If i had a do-over, i would place the guard on heavy cardboard and carefully trace the outline with an exacto knife. Right up to the pad itself. Tape it to the tank with painters tape where I wanted it. Place a couple short pieces of painters tape on the outside as guides. Then peel and stick. It's a herringbone so you can micro correct for each pad section as you go. Because when it sticks it sticks. Oh well. My buckles and snaps and zippers can't scratch the paint. Glad i chose clear.

clear is the only way to go. i like it because it matches whatever color the bike is. very discreet protection.

De momento no tengo queja. Fácil de poner y no se ha despegado ni una sola punta. Contenta. Vale la pena gastarse un poco más e ir a lo seguro.

Just what I wanted. Had to cut to fit over unusual tank/fairing lines of KTM (which I expected), but was easy to fit and not easy to see. The photos make the imperfections on the blue part look far worse than they appear to the naked eye. Would buy again for sure.

Product came came quickly and was super easy to install. Just peel and stick. The quality of the pad seems pretty good but I just installed it today so not sure how it holds up to changing temperatures yet. All in all feels like I expected it to and looks pretty good.
