The FeedSavr Bird Feeder Pole with Pulley

We bought this in hopes if attracting birds and hanging bird feeders on it. the assembly process was simple thanks to the clear directions, every part works flawlessly, the pulley is very convenient, it's not an eye sore on our front lawn, holds three feeders or whatever else you want to hang, and we saw immediate bird action the second we hung it up. The squirrel protector hasn't failed us yet, but there are squirrels and chipmunks on the ground below it eating the fallen food which is fine. We have seen many beautiful birds so far and there literally isn't a moment where there aren't 10 birds fluttering around the thing. Truly a great purchase and, if assembled correctly and placed in the appropriate position outside, will get some serious use by the birdies. I highly recommend.

This is a great idea, and worked well for the first few months. However, as squirrels are always a consideration when having bird feeders, they will find their way to the food in some way. The problem with the design is the squirrels eventually chewed through the cheap rope, causing the feeder assembly to crash to the bottom of the pole, breaking the plastic sliding mount in three places where the hangers attach, making it useless. The "squirrel blocker" is nothing more than a nice platform for them to jump onto. Also, the feeder holder does not slide up and down the pole easily if there is any imbalance in the weight of the three feeders, it will just sit there at the top of the pole until shaken. I would have given it a higher rating for it's first few months of service. If the quality of both the plastic slider design and perhaps a nylon rope is used, surviving what will naturally happen outdoors, it would be a much better product. I was able to track down the producer, Jenlis, no replacement parts are available and it's no longer produced, so it's now now trash.

I wish I could say I love it because I really, really, really like it. It looks very nice. My only problem is something (I suspect a raccoon) is able to climb up somehow and pull off the bottom of the sunflower seed feeder. It has even bent one of the prongs that holds up the squirrel baffle. This has occurred four times. I have added another 'squirrel baffle' (one of the curved ones) and changed the kind of sunflower feeder I use. So far so good. I would buy it again and recommend it to others.

This Feeder Pole is top quality and works great. It is so easy to use and looks good in the yard. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

I purchased this unit to place in one particular spot on our property where I can't dig a hole due to our septic issue because the description said "free-standing" well, yes but you need to dig a hole while was supposed to be OPTIONAL. Otherwise this would be a nice unit. I am disappointed but for $130, It is cheaper to buy squirrel proof feeders and hang them from my trees with $5 pulleys I can buy at the hardware store. Heck anyone can mount a bird feeder on a house with a pulley and it would be equal to this for much less money.Update 7/2014: I ended up placing this in a bucket of cement hidden inside a large planter. I have had so many birds and nary a squirrel to bother them! My whole family enjoys this and I have other family members who have ordered the same pole with the same mounting system inside a large planter. FYI, inside the planter I planted bright colored flowers and put a shepherds crook with a humming bird feeder.

Got this because my husband has a bad back and the pulley system works great and not difficult. Many people who have seen ours have purchased one.

It seemingly is beyond the reach of deer, & the baffle has kept squirrels at bay. I have had it operational for only 2 weeks. PROBLEM ! It arrived with one aluminum tube squashed out of round. Not good Quality control by the mfg

We have had this for about a week, and it's amazing. I put it in a half whiskey barrel, with a concrete block to keep it from shifting, and then filled the barrel with rocks and sand, so it's not going anywhere. The birds are thrilled that they can eat in peace (no cats or squirrels bothering them) and my partner and I love watching the birds enjoy a safe meal. Assembly took maybe 20 minutes, and the pulley rope, while still new and stretchy, seems to be effective. I may eventually replace it with a different kind of rope, but that's a preference, not a performance issue. Great idea!
