The dehumidifier doesn’t work if it is not plugged in 24X7X365.

Would the rod could cause fire due to heat that it produce?

I have mine hanging from the side so it want be against the carpet liner. So far it hasn't caused any trouble.

Where do i run the electric cord out of my safe? Do i need to drill a small hole or is it safe to run out the door?

If your safe does not have holes already drilled, you can safely drill a hole. You can also run it out the door as long as the closed door won't damage the cord, and your safe door closes completely.
