Xander's classmate Karim tells him about a famous amulet carved in the shape of Thoth, the Egyptian god of time. It was thought to be so powerful that it could turn back time one day every hundred years. And that day is in a week! The amulet disappeared from a London museum years ago. Xena and Xander's celebrated ancestor Sherlock Holmes tried to find it, but had no luck. The twins are on the caseโand so are mysterious foes who are trying to thwart and perhaps even harm them! Can Xander and Xena track down what Sherlock Holmes could not? The Case That Time Forgot is a 2011 Bank Street - Best Children's Book of the Year.

The case that time forgot
I loved this book. I have read all the books in this series and I like this the most. It cleverly makes you think about who is responsible for what and gives you an amazing link to Xena and Xander's adventure. It will leave you checking the locks whole reading it!

My 10 year old recommends this series...
My 10 year old daughter loved this mystery series. It kept her in suspense, without being too scary, and was age appropriate. She read the first of the set for school and asked me to buy her the rest.

Clever series for early readers, any gender
These are clever book series that involve clues and mysteries that two siblings are trying to figure out. Some back-story from prior books, but not necessary to know. Wonderfully age appropriate and very mild violence. The clever mystery in this specific book thus far has been the most entertaining compared to the other two prior books. Easy to read, we read these to him and not too boring for adults.
