Clotted Cream - Plain (6 ounce)

Perfect flavor. Unfavorable reviewers: this can become separated as it is made to be kept without refrigeration until opened. I agree it is pricey, even considering the LONG process required to make clotted cream. When I want scones and clotted cream, it is a lovely splurge.

This didn’t smell or taste right from the very beginning. It comes Jarred, but not in any form of cooling so I’m sitting here in Florida and it’s sat on my front porch for about eight hours now that may be why it went bad but it never occurred to me that they wouldn’t ship a dairy product without some kind of cooling to keep it fresh. Nevertheless, since it was the first time I tried it I opened it up. I used it once and it tasted foul so I would not recommend this find someplace that has it fresh or make your own. I found out that that’s actually pretty easy if you have a slow cooker.

HAVEN'T GOTTEN IT YET BUT KNOW IT IS REALLY TASTY. JUST REMEMBER IT ONLY LASTS ABOUT A WEEK ONCE IT IS OPEN.

The clotted cream had gone bad. The cream smelled terribly and a tiny taste made me wash out my mouth. There was no expiration date on the jar so I can't say how old it was.

I had clotted cream for the first time this summer in England and I fell in love with it. This is as good as what I ate in England. I do think it is rather expensive but I just had to have it. I probably won’t order it too often unless I found a cheaper price.

I ordered this twice. The first time I received an empty package and today the one I received was leaking and sour.

I was eager to try this clotted cream after reading about it in books and magazines (silly perhaps, but gourmet curiosity on my part). I enjoyed the creamy taste, but was a bit disappointed in the flavor - just wasn't unusual or special like I imagined it would be. I'm sure if you already know clotted cream, then you won't be disappointed. And the jar of clotted cream is handy for storing until you're ready to use it, unlike a fresh cream. I gave it a 4, rather than 5 because it wasn't quite what I expected.

I would strongly recommend this paired with any kind of fruit or berries. Its like whipped cream but more flavorful and thicker in consistency. It's good on bread or scones as well as long as you spread on a generous amount otherwise it will be similar to butter.
