Bates Men's Code 6.6 Inch Side Zip Lightweight Tactical Boot

I recently purchased these boots to try out a new model for my crew. They are warm weather boots and living in the North East, I haven't had much opportunity to wear them yet this year. I believe I have worn these 6 or less times, between 2&8 hours each time since purchased. Today I nearly tripped on some carpeting and I noticed the front lug on the sole is flapping in the breeze.( see pictures). This is not the Bates quality boot we have always trusted for comfort,safety, and to look great with our uniforms. This defect is unexceptable and dangerous to my crew. I purchased this different model to try them out. The look is there but unfortunitly the usual Bates quality is not

I will be getting other insoles for these boots, just like every Bates Boots I buy. I like the design, other than needing the insoles, it is a perfect fit for what I would expect. I will be wearing them for 8-12 hrs/day with shifts on my feet. So, with that in mind, I will be getting better insoles. I am female that buys Men's boots, but they fit exactly like all the other Bates Boots I have purchased. I will say that the width is on the thinner side than other Bates boots. I have always liked the zip up the side, but I like the Velcro closure on my Bates ICS boots better than the fold over on these boots. I got my boots a day earlier than promised too. Sadly I will not start wearing these on duty until the ice and snow melt, which gives me time to break them in before I wear them on duty. All in all I am happy with my purchase.

I love Bates boots, I've been wearing them for 15 years. These ones, I think, are the most comfortable ones I've owned yet. They fit perfectly and are light enough to be comfortable, but heavy enough to feel like they're work boots. I can wear them for 16 hours and feel like I could wear them another 24. If you like Bates and haven't tried these, give them a shot.

I think it is a good shoe, very comfortable. I think they do feel a bit wider than normal but if you wear sports socks or boot socks you should be fine. They are light, have good traction, and look nice. I've been watching the glue around the leather-sole area to see if it will come unglued ;-) but it's hanging in there despite a small crack.Comfortable for hours on end without questions. Not too water resistant I noticed. My foot was soaked after walking over a damp lawn.I may or may not get this model again but with the brand you can't go wrong.

Nice lightweight boot and looks like the normal Bates quality. I'll right more as I wear them more. I'm on my feet for 13-14 hrs. at a time, so I will givethem a true test. I only rated these boots at a four star because they just won't take a good shine. Not good for duty boots.

Great boots. Noticeably lighter than my other boots of the same style. I walk 4-6 miles a day and these wore very well over time. Never had any problems with seams springing out or soles separating or anything. I'm not gentle with my boots either. These are good summer boots, though I did wear them through the 2014 Christmas deep freeze in Colorado and they were fine.I have wide feet and I got the 13 EEE and they fit perfectly.

As a female correctional officer that's on my feet all day, I will say that the boots issued to us are horrible. I lasted 2 days in the last pair and had enough. I bought these (I'm a 9 in women's shoes) and haven't had any problems. They are fine to wear all day without any support, however, I did throw in a pair of cushioned insoles that I had for the heck of it and these are even more comfortable. The zipper also seems pretty sturdy.

True to the Bates name and reputation, perfect fit and durable for duty. Can't find a better duty boot at any price.
