Feel it's worth the money
I'm on my fourth bulb and second Pondmaster clarifier. Yes, the life of the bulb is 10-12 months, and it is darned expensive. BUT, it is the ONLY way I have clear water in my 2000 gallon pond. I consider it worth the money. Really how much a month is that for the enjoyment you get out of your pond.

Immediate failure due to old gasket.
I have had this light many years, and know the UV light wears out. This light burned out immediately.I purchased the new light bulb, crystal and rubber gasket to prevent this from happening. I suspect the rubber gasket to be the problem because it felt hard when I opened the packages. Must be old stock.Not happy about this. I have held this review request this long because I have been too angry about the wasted money. And I know these are the only people who make bulb and crystal for this unit.

Replacement bulb for pond uv light
This bulb burns in a light,continuously in our ornamental fish pond, installed in line with the filtration pump. They last about a year. This is a reliable source for replacement bulbs.

WHERE IS TH GLASS TUBE IN THE PICTURE
I TOOK OUT THE ORIGINAL LAMP WICH WAS STILL OPERATIONAL AFTER TWO YEARS. MY POND GUY EXPLAINED TO ME THAT THE LIGHT SPECTRUM CHANGES OVER TIME AND I NEEDED TO RELAMP. SO; I ORDERED THIS AND IT WORKED GREAT... FOR A MONTH THEN THE BALAST BLEW

Tendency to come loose or disconnected
These lights with so much weight and leverage on the 4 little prongs tend to come loose. Especially if they are sideways or with the prongs on the top while the things are in use. Poor design but good price if you can make them work.

Never worked
I read the reviews and hoped I would get a working bulb. It never worked. I have the submersible Pond Master UV filtration and am supposed to see a green light when the bulb is working. I never did see that light. I tried using the bulb for 3 days in my pond hoping against reason that it would work but it did not. The bulb was stamped "made in USA" while the box said "made in China" which was disconcerting to say the least. I must say that Amazon return policy is terrific- I was able to print out a return UPS label and drop it off. If you try this bulb, I would recommend keeping all the packaging until you know it is working.
