I had never tried one of these and wasn’t sure what to expect when I ordered it. When it arrived, I immediately noticed the excellent craftsmanship and how well designed. When I tried to use it, initially I was worried the impact would be too strong and was pleasantly surprised how easy and effective it is in finding the exact point and removing the end of the egg. Brilliant!

I bought this egg cracker out of curiosity since it was inexpensive. The device is most excellent as it is simple and just works.Following the recommendation of several reviewers here, I have had great success by holding the egg in my palm with my finger tips keeping the device in contact with the egg. Pulling the knob up about 20 mm (3/4 in) and letting go produces the crack. Do this twice without moving the device to propagate the crack all around the egg. Carefully remove the device and gently lift the top of the egg. I am able to create a clean cut in the egg shell most of the time this way.

It’s OK it doesn’t fair job and making a circle around the egg, it has to be put in a shock glass or an egg holder

Works great. I love soft boiled eggs but tended not to make them because it’s a pain to open them up successfully. This device does the job nicely.

It broke my egg cup. Don’t use this if your egg is in an egg cup. It really does not cut the top of the eggshell off vey well. Awkward to use as you need to hold the egg in one hand while trying to lift the handle to allow it to drop onto the egg. Sorry I bought this. I would not recommend.

so this thing just cracks an egg in a straight line. neat. why? dunno. I still have mine and I use it when I forget that it serves no real purpose. I can crack eggs, as can most people. Crack with no mess? Nope. This thing doesn't help there. Crack a boiled egg on a straight line so you can serve it that way, with half the shell still there? Why?

This gadget is a marvel. For years I used a knife to cut off the top of soft boiled eggs. Worked fine most of the time, but jagged and a bit messy. This gadget simplifies the process. Clean cut, quick execution, very easy to clean. Fab.

I bought this and didn’t know if it would work , but you know it’s a great little cutter , it does the job!!!

Funktioniert nicht

Well upon trying it . It's not a magical item but it does break the egg after a few tryouts.

I don't know whether I had the wrong shaped eggs or what, but clearly I was too gentle with my first couple of attempts to decapitate my egg, so I pulled the plunger up to it's fullest extent and it totally destroyed the egg and managed to spray it all over the kitchen. Whether this was beginners luck, I don't know as I haven't had the courage to try it again.
