Fantastic for bad feet. Buy them now.
These shoes have helped me so much. I also have flat feet/fallen arches and plantar fasciitis. I’ve had this problem for three years. It’s been terrible. I’ve through physical therapy. Purchased (and returned) about 40 pairs of shoes and 13 pairs of insoles in that time. It’s gotten to the point I can barely stand. I have other physical problems, too. Bad spine. Weak hips. And I’m on my thirties! They hold my heels stable really well. I highly recommend them for strong stability. I was surprised that it wasn’t a ton of special arch support that made them feel right. It was the stability. Holding my feet still. I can walk now! I admit, I don’t like how these shoes look much. I’m not a running shoe person. But I’ve gotten a bit desperate and I’ve grown more fond of them. I call them my beta fish shoes because I think they look a little aquatic.I have two pairs of shoes now. If you have any problem like me and are searching, Alegria’s Essence has been like heaven. I’m a walking person again.

So Comfortable!
As a nurse I am on my feet 12 + hours at a time. These shoes are very comfortable, provide plenty of support and also allow enough air to breathe through. I ordered the wide width and my normal size and they fit perfectly!

Soles too soft for outdoor use.
Comfy shoe but the soles wore out in less than 2 months. Maybe it’s only meant for treadmills? I walked 12-15 miles per week on asphalt bike paths and cement sidewalks, and from 1/19-3/3 I’ve already worn down the outer layer of the sole. There’s no way I can get the usual 300 miles per shoe out of these.

Great for RA!
Love my Rykas! By far the best tennis shoes have ever owned. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis, and my feet, ankles, and knees are severely affected. These shoes help me get through a full day of walking with minimal discomfort. THANK YOU RYKA!

but cradle the instep and heel area beautifully. The cushioning is wonderful
Because I have wide feet, when I opened up the box, I was expecting to find the usual heavy, frankenstein-like shoes. No so!!! These are very attractive and lightweight. They have a wide toe box, but cradle the instep and heel area beautifully. The cushioning is wonderful. The uppers are made of a light mesh which I think will be nice and cool in the summer months. They are, however, not the best shoes when the temperature is around freezing. I can feel the cold, in these conditions. I bought my usual size (9 wide) and they fit perfectly. Love them.

Love them so far!!!
Hi!, I have owned these for about 2 weeks now, and I have to say so far, I love them. arch support is great, I never had that with my New Balance, I am a cashier in a very busy supermarket, so I am on my feet all day on a concrete floor, standing on a fatigue mat, so far my legs are not tired when I come home!!, or when I am standing at the register! The only negative thing about these are that the laces are difficult to lace through the slits, because these are not holes. I ordered my usual size 7 1/2 and they fit great, there is probably a 1/4 of an inch of room and I can wiggle my toes, so they work for me. I also walk up and down hills with them, and they work fine and are cushiony, hopefully they won't wear out too quick, because I wear them everyday. I had skechers with the memory foam, but they break down way to fast, hopeully these will not break down to fast.I will update in a couple of months to let you all know if they are still great!

MADE FOR WOMEN - LOVE 'EM
Have worn Ryka for years. I walk an average of 3 miles a day and have for years. I NEVER have to break in my Rykas. Put this pair on this morning for the first time and walked 3.5 miles with comfort and support. NOTE: I have gone up a half size on my last three pair.

These shoes are awesome.
I normally buy one size up for running shoes. Other posts said they are true to size so I bought a size 6. (I'm a 5.5) Thought that maybe since they are walking shoes they might fit differently. They are just a little tight in the toe for my comfort but these shoes are so awesome. First pair that hasn't hurt my feet after a 4 mile walk. The shock absorbers really work!

After over 20 years still best shoes on the market
Been wearing Ryka shoes for over 20 years while running and now in my later years walking. Can just put them on and go straight off for excercise ... as long as you get one size bigger than you usually wear!! Amazing shoes had a problem with a pair I bought beginning of this year with the wear but Ryka refunded and as it was a one off I have bought these ones with the refund. I have had these shoes before and the wear on them was amazing so I cannot see there being any problem this time.

Light and comfortable, much as described.
I was a little confused since I ordered a UK 5 and received a UK 4 - having said that, it fits well so perhaps there was a reason for this anomaly ! No reason to return it after all. Good to wear when Power Walking on all terrains, so light I wonder if I have a shoe on at all.

Great insole
The insole in this shoe has a really high instep - which I love. The shoe is also a wider fitting shoe, but has a normal size heel. Super comfortable, but not warm, better for summer than winter. So far I've put on about 8k, and love the shoe even wear it inside for support when my feet ache.
