PIH Shower Volume Control Valve, Shut-Off One Piece Copper Brass Made, 1/2'' Standard Connection, Chrome Polished

(I don't know what is meant by "warmth" and "sheerness" so I didn't rate them.) I am quite satisfied with this valve and I'm considering getting another to replace a different type that is working fine, but doesn't have the control that this one does. The other valves that I've used were all push-button types that worked well enough but seemed a bit hard to push. The one that this replaced became quite hard to push and, although I didn't realize it at the time, began restricting the water flow. When I put this replacement valve on, I was quite surprised at how much stronger the flow was. And the control is very smooth and easy to move. It will completely shut off the water flow or will completely open it up. The only minor quibble I have is if I want to leave just a small amount of water flowing to maintain temperature, it's a little tricky to dial in the exact amount I want. But I think that, as I use it, my ability to finely control it will improve. I think this is the best control valve I've ever owned and would definitely but it again.

The sliding disk design is much solider and better suited to this shower flow control application. Unlike the cheap plastic ball and o-ring valve I replaced with this all brass, chrome plated type I have no concern it'll fail. Surprisingly, it will also completely stop flow whereas the old plastic valve did not and still blew off the stem cap. This item was only about 50% more costly than the plastic valve, still inexpensive but better quality.

This was one of the least expensive of this kind when sorted by price and I was a little worried, but this is so nice! All metal, works so smoothly, love it to keep the water trickling but can shut completely off if you want. Why waste the water when you're soaping up, or brushing your teeth, or if you don't need as much water when you're shaving. So easy to install on the hose at the showerhead. Buy one for each shower/bathroom!

2019-11-18: Builder installed single lever shower/tub faucet that runs at full water flow (wanted separate hot/cold knobs that would control both water mix and flow rate). Instead builder installed low flow shower head which was sorta close to my preferred shower pressure. OK enough to not mess with it. Then sis-in-law stayed for a while and didn't like low flow water flow. So she decided to "make it better" and broke the flow regulator in the shower head. Ever since shower runs full blast. Of course sis-in-law never replaced the shower head. Easy install. No drips. Supposed to be a ceramic valve... But looks like plastic. Will see how it holds up with use. Now I can adjust both temperature and shower spray force to my liking. Will update after a while and if no issues, raise to 5 star.

This is a great way to reduce water pressure for those that do not like a ton of pressure or if you have high pressure in you area. Was very simple to install, made well. Goes between the shower head or attachment supply line then shower head attaches to it. Be sure to use the supplied tape on the threads to easy installation and also prevent future issues if you need to remove it.

I had two instances of a Moen cartridge failing which meant I had a shower that would not turn off. This shutoff valve is genius and works perfectly. I am ordering them for the other 3 showers so we can shut it off in case of an issue with the cartridges or handles or anything. Smooth operation and seems to be well built. Time will tell if it's durable, but I expect it to perform very well for my needs.

Perfect for what I needed

I wanted to be able to control my water pressure on my shower head so I purchased this piece to adjust as necessary. It works for that purpose, but it doesn't leak from the washer side - not sure if I received a slight defect. I was sure to use thread seal tape too. Not a huge deal buster for me since I only use it while showering.
