After trying two cheaper cameras on my '08 Sequoia with a Pioneer 5600 head unit, I finally gave up and got the Pioneer ND-BC6. Works beautifully. Unfortunately, there's no way around it looking like an aftermarket install. The only reason I tried the two cheaper options is that they fit seamlessly in the spot where the OEM camera goes. But I am pleased with the Pioneer--it has been on for about 5000 miles, including cross-country road trips, rain, dust, heat . . . works great. I have only hand-washed the Sequoia since I've had the camera so I can't say how it would hold up under a high-pressure automated wash, but I sealed the fitting with dicor sealant so I'm not going to worry about taking it to a car wash. Picture is great during day (any problems with day-time viewing are due to the head unit--can't see it well during bright sunlight or while wearing polarized sunglasses), and night time is fine too--especially with the new LED reverse light bulbs I installed. As with any camera install, you need to be comfortable pulling off interior body panels, and tapping in to the appropriate power source before you tackle this project. For the Sequoia, the easiest power source (that would come on when shifting to reverse) was the green wire in the overhead panel with the sunroof controls.

Picked this up to install in the tailgate handle of my 2012 Dodge Ram Long Horn. Camera is plugged into a Pioneer Head unit, and the picture quality is amazing. It is a vast improvement over the previous model in pixel count, and also in the viewing angle. Night time visibility is definitely some of the best I've seen of car backup cameras. Install was pretty straight forward and all plug 'n' play. Housing seems very sturdy and is well sealed, and in the package there are several brackets and double sided tape pieces for installation options. I've ended up drilling out my tailgate handle and mounting it from the inside. It was a bit tricky to match the port just right to get a nice flush seating of the camera, while maintaining proper alignment - but, it turned out really nice. Would deffinitely recommend this unit.

Installed this with the new Pioneer AVIC-Z150BH. Picture quality looks great and the camera itself is durable. It came with most of the parts needed for installation. The instructions don't mention anything about drilling the camera to the car, they only outline using the included double sided tape. I prefer a more rugged install, so I went ahead and used the double sided tape plus two screws. Drilled 1/16" holes and attached the camera with 3/8" sheet metal screws. Sealed with waterproof epoxy. I was surprised how simple the install was. Don't be hesitant because you're worried about drilling into the car. If you already have a navigation system that works with a rear view camera, this is a great investment for the price. I was hesitant for a while, but I am so glad I went down this road.

This works fine. It's a universal mount so it doesn't require a special plug for the radio. The caveat is that it does not contain the backup guides like most of the other backup cameras. Its built sturdy and will mount to just about anything. It even comes with 2 sided tape to mount without screws (but didnt come with screws for the screw mount). It maintains the up and down via some internal circuitry. No need to set it when you're mounting it upside down or anyway else. It has low light / night vision, which works like a champ. Not bad but, could be better for the price. Add backup guides next time Pioneer.

When we back up, we need every advantage. I wonder if back up cameras should be mandatory? They act as an aid, but we still need to look around. This camera works great. The image on my Pioneer AVH-X5500 is first class and gives great visibility (day or night) when in reverse. Please keep in mind that this camera has a wide angle lens. So it views the entire area behind you as well as the right and left fields. But the trade off is a lack of depth of field. So when you look at the picture, you can't tell if you are six feet or sixteen feet from an object. If there is an obstacle or a small child, you will see it; but you will most likely not be able to judge how far away you are from that object. Installation is always a bit of a challenge. Most of this is covered on You Tube or elsewhere so I won't repeat it or go into any detail. If you are a DIYer, it should be a fun project. (Please take your time and research routes and connections prior to installation.) If you don't feel comfortable ripping your car apart, get some help or have it done professionally. The camera and it's connectors including the "power module' are well designed and durable. I think it is worth the money as opposed to less expensive cameras. But I will concede that this last point is open to debate. Recommended.

So far very crappy. Had it professionally installed and they couldn't get it working with my pioneer avic 7000 NEX. You'd think this pioneer camera would have no issues with a pioneer head unit. It doesn't come on automatically when I'm in reverse, even though we wired it to the reverse lights per the instructions. It comes up with a blank image and causes my head unit to freeze. I then have to reset it and redo all settings. Very frustrating, and a waste of time and money.

Great video from such a small camera. The lens may be a little too wide angle but it certainly makes for a great backup camera. As others have said, I would like to have the option of guide marks in the image but this is a function of the display and not the camera. I teamed it with a Magellan 1700. Works great once you get the Magellan cables sorted out.

Good camera. Picture a little grainy, but more than sufficient to do the job. Quality pioneer product. With camera mounted properly and a little practice, it is incredible how precisely I can reverse park my Silverado.

I found this camera quite hard to find, so was happy to discover it on Amazon and at a reasonable price. Quick to arrive and genuine Pioneer product. I got a professional fitter to install and was glad I did as He said it was hard to fit (took over an hour). Picture is clear and crisp with a panoramic view of what's behind. Ideal if you don't have parking sensors installed. Recommended product and seller. See my uploaded photo for the picture displayed when camera is activated.

als Rückfahrkamera ist die Pioneer ND-BC6 nur bedingt zu gebrauchen. Ich betreibe die Kamera mit einem DVD-RDS-AV-Empfänger AVH-6300BT von Pioneer. Das Bild ist sehr scharf, leider sieht es sehr OVAL aus, daher ist die Einschätzung nach hinten sehr unzuverlässig, da der abstand weiter aussieht als er Tatsächlich ist.
