When searching for the correct oil for your 1980s "SU carburettor dashpot" don't forget to put "dashpot DAMPER oil". Otherwise you too may order the wrong one ,like what I did. I never saw that it was only for pre 1940 carbs without a damper in the dashpot. It is written on the bottle but could not read that on the images on the website. It would be nice if it was in product description/details.One review even said it was perfect for his MG. (not a pre 1940). Do you think someone should tell him.?

I too made the mistake of ordering this thinking it would be good to top up my SU carb's dashpot damper chamber - but as the image quality is so unlear, and there's very little information on the product listing - it only became apparent that this is for pre-1940 cars once it had arrived and the label was clear to read

Cant remember when i actually ordered this but i have had a birthday since and i am only a few months away from the next one.I will let you know how wonderful the oil works when i gets here.Incidentally the Fuel delivery on the car that this was ordered for has since been changed to Injection. So the oil will be redundant when it does arrive and just sit on the shelf collecting dust. shame.

Just what I needed for the correct grade for the SU dashpots on my classic MG. Perfect damping now.
