JT ER2 Pump Paintball,CO2, Pistol Kit - Smoke

I got two of these, one for myself and one for my mom. For myself it was partly for fun, and partly for security when I'm home alone at night. I chose this one for two reasons: 1. I didn't want it to look too much like a real gun, if someone ever broke in and police showed up I wouldn't want them to mistake it for something that could kill, it is obviously a paintball gun. 2. It was a great price.I liked the idea of a non-fatal ranged defense option and got one for my mom for safety also. It has been years since I used to play paintball with my brothers and dad and from the reviews and descriptions I was expecting a weak velocity and smaller gun that I wouldn't really want to play with if I got around to games again. The gun is bigger than I expected, for ratio you might say the length is about 3 soda cans and almost 2 from pommel to the sight. The tubes of paintballs attach right onto the gun which is handy if you don't intend to do much shooting and while I don't have a big hopper anymore I'm assuming the size is right to attach one. The co2's that come with it fit inside the grip part of the gun completely and are sealed in with a screw lid so they don't stick out. I'm not sure you can use a larger co2 with this gun because of this design unless you come up with a clever modification. When I took it out into the backyard to test it out I was pleasantly surprised at the velocity, I shot up a steep hill at a target about 100 yards away and it didn't lose height or momentum at all and I felt like I could go back to the old days of sniping headshots on the paintball fields at a lesser range.For a smaller pump gun this one is great, and for those of you with female family members who want an alternative to mace for safety at home at night or on a long solo drive this might be a good idea for them too.

Got this kit on Amazon 4.5 years ago when it was $30. At $40 it's still a great deal. High quality plastic that will last forever. Powerful, loud, hard-hitting, and very accurate. Quite comfy in the hand ... very much like my 9mm Ruger P89. I painted the sights for easier sighting and want to epoxy a laser sight onto it ... wish it had some picatinny rails on it. Get about 20 hard shots from each CO2 cartridge, so my cost is 5 cents per shot (paintball + CO2). You can rapid fire by holding the trigger back and pumping the gun fast, but accuracy goes out the window. There were black versions (instead of semi-transparent "smoke") back then, and they looked much cooler. strong out of the box but not too strong all the co2 leaks out if it sits too long. Great for the kids in the back yard and for scaring off racoons in a pinch. Quality was ok easy to use, but you're not paintballing with this. fun gimmick toy. After minimal use I gave to a friend his kid plays with it in the country and has blast.

Please consider my level when reading this review. I am an entry level experienced paintball gun user. I have used an upper/medium quality paintball rifle before that shot far and accurately. I do not consider myself to be a great and accurate shooter, but this gun makes me look good! I even let a beginner friend (another adult) who has never shot one shot it and she hit the target (~ 7" diameter tree trunk) from 15 yards out.I find that it will shoot and still spatter well on a tree trunk at 25-30 yards out.After the first 5-6-ish shots the umph deteriorates and I had to start aiming high to high my target.I find this to be a fun paintball gun that fits my needs of splattering targets and shooting at predators to keep them away from my chickens without causing injury to them.

This is the perfect kit for someone just starting out. Very affordable and good quality.

It appears to be a nice paint ball gun, however, not the best packaging as you can see.

This arrived on time but the paintballs broke in the package -I'm just glad it was enclosed in a plastic bag. However - their customer service was outstanding!!!! They immediately replaced the product broken in shipping. Awesome!!

Pretty easy to use. Packaging difficult to open. Hate those plastic clam shell things. Only problem I encountered is that after about 3 shots the ammo tube tends to fall off scattering paint balls all over and interrupting your shooting.. I put a couple pieces of painters tape inside the opening where the ammo tube goes and seems to have fixed the problem of loose fitment.It's handy to scare deer away from my flowers and chase geese off my beach. You don't have to hit them, just the sound of the gun going off and the wizz of the paintball going by or splashing in the nearby water works fine.
