Wonderful patterns. Easy to follow instructions that are complete.

This is an absolutely stunning knitting book. This book is as delightful as Her previous book, Sock Yarn Shawls. Her skill as a knitter and her attention to detail make this a great addition to my knitting book collection. There are so many options to choose from for your next project. I have every pattern earmarked to knit. It is very Rare to get a book with so many items that catch your eye. I adore the fact that she has created different sections from small shawls to the larger, gorgeous pie shawls. I am now in the dilemma of figuring out which one I will knit first... I hope to see many future books from this great designer!

All the photos are great showing wearing styles and color options. Patterns are shown in grid format and written out row by row . This allows for different levels of knitting proficiency. There are also skill level options

As expected, like her first book, the designs were nice. Several 2 color shawls are a welcome change to the one color shawl.

Love the patterns and they are easy to follow.

I was planning on loving this book already since I love her first Sock Yarn Shawls book but this book even exceeded my high expectations. There are 16 patterns in here categorized by how much yarn/size of shawl -- ranging from 1 skein of sock yarn, 2 skeins of sock yarns and more than 2 skeins of sock yarn. I want to make almost every shawl in this book! There is a lovely variety of top-down, bottom up, triangles, crescents, rectangles and circles, all over lace or just lace edging, solid color or multi colors -- I can't imagine anyone not finding something that appeals to their knitting tastes in here. Each pattern has charts and written directions and there are plenty of pictures of the shawls so that you can see how the resulting shawl will look. Anyone interested in making some lovely shawls with their precious skeins of fingering weight yarn will not be disappointed in this book.

Wish there was another star to rate this book - it is fabulous. Clearly a 6-star rating from this knitter. I have the first Sock-Yarn Shawl I and love it. This new Sock-Yarn Shawls II is absolutely a must. I am already underway with the Sierra shawl and am making three others to include the one on the cover. Seriously over-the-top. The patterns are outstanding and offer a variety of different sizes. You even have the option of repeating charts within the patterns to customize the shawls to fit you perfectly. You will find spectacular shawls for all sizes. If you knit, or even thinking about knitting, the book is a MUST! Truly. If you don't knit at all, buy it for a friend that does. They will love you for it. Jen Lucas has definitely got-it-goin' on for certain. Grateful for her talent and her willingness to share.

Someone in my knitting group had this book and I loved it so much, I had to have it. Great patterns with easy to follow instructions, both written and charted.

Love this book. Beautiful projects with a very good chart and word description. I think good for the a little bit more than beginners and for advanced lace knitters.

nachdem ich bereits mehrere Lace-Schals gestrickt hatte, sollte es endlich mal ein Dreiecktuch werden. Beim Stöbern fand ich dieses Buch und den Kauf habe ich nicht bereut. Sicher wirken einige Tücher nur mit dem lt. Anleitung verwendeten Garn (gerade bei einem Farbverlauf über die gesamte Länge 660yds (600m) bei 140g pro Knäuel. Aber auch so sind die Tücher eine Augenweide - manche aus nur einem Knäuel (100g) für mich jedoch zu klein. Allerdings gibt es auch Tipps, wie einige der Modelle mit mehr Garn oder größer gestrickt werden können (Modell Monarda, das ich derzeit mit 2 Knäueln Noro Kureyon Sock stricke (Bild folgt). Modell Juniper habe ich mit genau einem Knäuel Zauberball Heilix Blechle gestrickt. Exakt nach Anleitung, jedoch der Nadelstärke 4 (statt der empfohlenen 3,75). Kam bei meiner Tochter zum 27. Geburtstag super an und abends vorm TV war das Tuch in knapp einer Woche fertig. Allerdings gab es im Schema zwei fehlende Umschläge (fiel mir aber in der Rückreihe beim nachzählen auf - also knapp 300 Maschen zurückstricken und wieder neu). In der Textanleitung ist dieser Fehler nicht. Probleme hatte ich beim Tuch Sierra. Irgendwie kam ich mit der Strickschrift nicht hin. Aber ehrlich: das Tuch wirkt wirklich nur durch den Farbwechsel des Originalgarns!!! Ich werde mindestens noch das Titelmodell Lycopod nachstricken. Allerdings werde ich wohl ein sehr feines Lacegarn von Schoppel bzw. Silkhair von Lana Grossa (LL je ca. 800m/100g) verwenden (und dünnere Nadeln) verwenden, um ein edleres Strickbild zu erreichen. Aber ich denke, selbst mit dickerem Tweedgarn (LL weniger als 400m/100g) und Nadeln ab 4,5 Stärke passt dieses Tuch auch zum Trachtenoutfit. Mit diesem Buch ist es selbst bei geringen Englischkenntnissen der etwas erfahrenen Strickerin möglich, schöne Stücke zu stricken. Und auch für Wollreste aus abgeschlossenen Sockenstrickereien bieten einige (wenige!) Modelle Verwertungsmöglichkeiten. Insgesamt gibt es (jeweils auf handelsübliche 4fädige Sockenwolle bezogen): 6 Anleitungen für je ein 100g Knäuel, 7 Anleitungen für je zwei Knäuel á 100g (tw. 2 verschiedenfarbige Modelle) bzw. je 1 Knäuel á 140g, je 1 Anleitung für 3 Knäuel (1x einfarbig, 1x dreifarbig) 1 Anleitung für 5 Knäuel á 50g. Ich empfehle dieses Buch gern weiter. Allerdings sollten regelmäßig die Maschen in den Rapporten bzw. auf der Nadel nachgezählt werden, um weitere Druckfehler (ich hoffe jedoch, es gibt nur den einen von mir gefundenen) rechtzeitig zu bemerken. Es bleibt nur noch anzumerken, dass beim Kauf der Wolle auf eine gute Qualität des Garns geachtet werden sollte. Schließlich trägt man die Schals sichtbar und keine im Schuh versteckte Socken. Und als Geschenk sollte bei der Garnwahl vielleicht lieber eine Qualität aus/mit Kunstfaser, Baumwolle oder Viskose gewählt werden, so mancher empfindlicher Frauenhals mag keine Wolle. Und welche Strickerin freut sich nicht, wenn ihr Geschenk auch getragen wird statt irgendwo als Kratzetuch in die hinterste Schrankecke verbannt zu werden??? Tipp bei einem Geschenk: aus verbliebenem Garn eine hübsche Kordel drehen und mit dem Garnetikett ein kleines Anhängerchen basteln. Beides an der Arbeit befestigen. So erhält die Beschenkte die Pflegehinweise, Infos zur Garnzusammensetzung und für den Notfall auch Originalgarn zum "Flicken". Kommt erfahrungsgemäß stets gut an.

Ich hatte schon Buch 1 davon gekauft, aber auch dieser Band ist Klasse. Wenn man ihn in der Kindle Version kauft, gibt es einen Link, sodass man die Modelle dann auch als Muster ausdrucken lassen kann. Praktisch, weil mitnehmbar und nicht so klein, wie im Kindle.
