Good looking ice makes drink more appealing
I've only gone through the trays twice, but I already love these cubes. They are bigger than normal cubes and seem to stay frozen a lot longer. More importantly (for me and I'd assume most people looking at these) they look great. Theres something about perfect ice that makes a glass of iced tea just look better. A lot of people have commented on the off flavor that these can provide. I agree in that when I received my package they didn't smell the freshest. They definitely had some kind of lubricant from the manufacturing process on them. I rinsed them with blue dawn and then let them soak with some dilute vinegar solution (roughly 1:10 vinegar:water). I used apple cider vinegar because its what I had on hand. After a 10 minute soak and a quick rinse the tray had no discernible off odor and the cubes came out tasting like regular ice. I'd also heard that the cubes were difficult to remove, but I didn't have quite that experience. They don't fall out of the tray like an old school plastic tray, but I think thats done on purpose a bit. If you're going to take the time to make perfectly shaped cubes would you want to let them tumble out and chip corners off? A little push up on the bottom of each cube gets it out far enough that I can grab it and lift it out and the mold snaps right back to shape. It does take a second or two to remove each cube but that adds up to maybe 45 seconds for the entire tray? In short is not that big of a hassle. Overall I'd say these are as close to perfect as you're going to get especially if you fixate on making pretty drinks. The cubes are not only functional, but look amazing and to me thats well worth a quick vinegar rinse and a few extra seconds to take them out of the tray.

Great trays for baby food!
I bought these trays for making my sons baby food. I love having square cubes, rather than the regular cubes from a tray. The frozen cubes stack really well in a Ziploc bag. I like that they are smaller than a standard ice cube tray, but still have a lot of capacity since they are tall. I thought the cubes were perfect squares until I paid close attention and noticed they are slightly taller than wide. It's perfect that they are 1 oz portions. When I started my son on baby food I began with one cube, now I take out 2 cubes per meal. A standard pouch or jar of baby food is 2.5-4.5 oz. So this allows me to use the right amount of food with minimal waste. I saw a lot of reviewers mention difficulty getting the cubes out. I find that if I get one out in the middle, then I can push up on the bottom of the tray starting with that empty spot and get them all out pretty easily. It's also easier to get them out if I don't over fill them because then they are attached at the top and I have to break that part apart. I can see how anyone with hand problems might not like these trays though. It's not as simple as a little twisting motion, it's more pushing. I only wish they had some kind of cover for these. Now that I have a 2 pack of trays I would love to stack them while my baby food is freezing. Now I have to clear space in the freezer for both trays. If you're contemplating making your baby food I absolutely recommend it. It's very easy to do, saves a lot of money and is fun. I've done a taste test of some prepackaged baby food versus homemade baby food and homemade wins hands down. Pair that with how much money you save and it's a win-win (especially if you're doing organic).

convenient size tray, and no problem with odor or ice cube removal
I first purchased silicone ice trays (orange color) locally about a year ago and have been using them steadily ever since with no problem whatsoever. I don't generally like silicone for baking (too tippy and unsteady), so I wasn't sure about these trays at first, but they become completely secure once the cubes are frozen, of course, so they're fine. I liked the small size so much that I tried to buy another set locally but couldn't find them. Then, I found them here on Amazon and ordered the dark blue, which is the cheapest color at this point. The two main complaints about silicone ice cube trays seem to be that there is a discernable off-taste from them, and the cubes are difficult to remove from the trays. I haven't had any problem with an off-taste; the cubes are fine. I don't know if it makes any difference, but I never put mine through the dishwasher. I only use soap and hot water if the trays need cleaning. I just don't trust the harsh cleaning cycle in a dishwasher for use on silicone. As for the difficulty of removing cubes, it's true that one has to poke each one out separately. I like that! I use these trays when I need only a few cubes, so that's perfect for me. For users who might want to freeze broth or other liquids in these trays, the cubes hold 2 Tblsp. when filled not quite to the top, so two cubes make a quarter-cup of liquid. That's handy to know for cooking. I'm very pleased with these trays, and I keep one to use when I travel and stay in a motel. They make convenient ice cubes if there's no tray supplied at the motel, and that saves trips to the ice machine.

I've had these trays for over a year now and I'm really pleased with them, they have held up to daily use and show no signs of wear and tear. These trays make perfect cubes every time which I love. They are large and stable, a lot of ice Cubes crack when removing them from traditional trays however with these they never do. The only draw back is that the cubes do not fall out of the tray, you have to twist them and then push the cubes out individually. It only takes a couple seconds and two cubes is plenty for a can of cola or similar sized drink. If you're taking them per drink it's not an issue, I could see though if you wanted to make a bucket of ice it would be more tedious than the trays that you can knock the whole tray out at once with.

The cubes are about 1 inch by 1 inch each - they're silicon as ordered. I liked it - and find the cubes easy to take out by rolling the silicon sides.

I'm not using it for ice cubes, but maybe one day I will. I saw a recipe online that used and recommended these molds. Vegan jello made into single serving jigglers. Deep enough to add fruit. I was skeptical but it worked really well. It's firm so keeps it's shape. Maybe because the back is flat. The jello came out with little effort and in perfect shape.

It's an ice cube tray and it works. Love the color too. Summer drinks here we go! Can be a little tricky to remove ice but it's silicone so it won't crack, break or bend in the middle like the old school plastic ones. Just to help the one user out.. I got you don't worry! If it spills when you fill it too much, try filling it less. Thank me later.
