Works great for me
I had a "spinner" on my first car in 1963 and loved it. Haven't used one since 1967 and had heard over the years that they were illegal in some states. That is probably not true now, but I don't know. Anyway, as I've aged I've developed some arthritis is the shoulders and sometimes sharp turns of the wheel cause too much discomfort, so I went looking for one of these. One of the best features for installation is that it installs with a socket wrench, not a screw like some, which would be harder to get a really tight fit. I installed it on a Toyota with the thinnest of the rubber spacers and it tightened down very snugly with no slippage whatsoever. I liked the feature of being able to fold it down when not needed or when leaving the vehicle at the shop or with a young valet who may never have used one and might get careless and reckless--not that they are really dangerous, but if you've never used one you should get the feel for it before trying any "fancy" wheeling! (in my opinion). WARNING: the package/directions are in Japanese. I don't read Japanese, but I learned to curse in it with this installation. JUST KIDDING!! The installation is so easy a CAVEMAN could install it. (My wife might say a caveman did install it.) The knob folds down easily with a push of the button and snaps back up without the button and locks in place. There is a slight looseness and slack in the fittings (the fold down/up action, not looseness of the grip on the wheel) that is a little disconcerting, but I don't believe it presents any problem at all. It spins on ball bearings I guess, because it is extremely smooth. I use it primarily when parking or backing out of a parking space or rounding corners, and it takes very little effort to make sharp turns compared to using the steering wheel. It saves my shoulder from pain and discomfort in these situations. This one costs a little more than some but is well worth it.

Lasts about 6 months before it falls apart.
I love this knob I just wish they would make it out of metal instead of cheap plastic. I have owned 3 of these and they last about 6 months then you have to replace it. A fixed knob would never be a problem but these folding ones are nice if you share the steering wheel with someone who doesn't like using the knob.

Just what I was looking for
Works great. Just what I wanted. Nice that it folds down when not wanting to use it. Solid built. Stays tightly in place. The strap around the steering wheel is metal that is wrapped in leather. +he only negatives I have is that the ball is a bit small for my hand ergonomically and the bearing is a bit loose. I would definitely buy again and recommend though.

Very durable
I got this to help me drive after shoulder cuff surgery. Seven months later my shoulder is much better, and I'm still using the knob a lot. Only problem is it no longer folds out of the way. There's a pin that runs along the axis of the knob between the button in the knob and the pivot joint. You press the button which moves the pin which presses on the mechanism that unlocks the pivot joint which allows you to pivot the knob out of the way. On mine after about 5 months, the pin fell out so now the button doesn't do anything. Luckily the pivot joint is locked in the position where I can still use the knob, and it's still just as durable. The pin is needed only when folding the knob out of the way and back again. The pin is not needed for spinning the knob; there are ball bearings for that. (If instead I were unlucky enough that the knob was locked in the folded away position, I would have to take the knob apart to some how try and fix it, or just throw it away.)If the fold-away feature is important to you, keep in mind that it does not fold ENTIRELY out of the way. Your hands may still need to grab onto the steering wheel where the strap is attached, and the knob itself juts out a fraction of an inch. If you're still okay with that, you may need to figure out some way to maintain the button/pivot mechanism so that the pin doesn't stick and/or fall out.It was a little harder to install than I was expecting, but no harder than any other knob would have been. Just take your time and do it right the first time, and it will stay in place a long time. My steering wheel is already fairly thick so I didn't need any of the spacers. I installed mine at about the 10 o'clock position.

Not Very Durable
This thing started falling apart about a week after I installed it. The retainer ring which holds the button in place popped out. I kept pushing it back in and found that one of the retention tabs was broken. Eventually, the retainer ring would not stay in. I can no longer fold the knob away, so I just use it all the time as a hand rest.On the bright side, it is very comfortable. I love the way it feels in my hand and it’s a great place to rest your hand while driving.

Easy install and looks great new
I put this on my steering wheel without any tools, you can hand tighten it but it will get a little loose so it helps to check every once and awhile. I've had it for about 6 months and it looked great. Soft matte finish on the outer edge matches most dark steering wheels. Looks very natural. The finish did start to peel away to reveal a more obvious plastic underneath. It also fell apart once. the button in the middle and the ring that holds it down came out but I was able to put it back in. All in all works pretty reliably, I wish it didn't look so beat up after six months but it does what I need it too.

Great solution
It works like a full size brush but folds in your pocket!

The guts of the steering knob keeps flying out.
While the product was exactly what I needed, shortly after I installed it, the plastic ring in the center of the knob which holds everything together broke. At that time, while I was driving, the plastic ring popped out, the spring flew out, the little pin fell into the floor and the little cap went under my seat. I have tried to put things back in but everything keeps falling apart. Can you possibly replace the product? Something more sturdy?
