Good way to buy a good tasting brand of Bran Flakes if you can't find them at your grocery
I love Bran Flakes, but they got to be impossible to find in my local grocery sotres. My daughter found them on Amazon.com, and I have reordered them a couple of times since. However, after reading a book called "Wheat Belly" by Dr. William Davis which I also bought on Amazon.com, I have decided to eliminate as much wheat from my diet as I can practically do without going to extremes. Wheat is a very big part of the American diet, but most of it can be elimated. Sadly, I decided to give up my favored Bran Flakes and about 90% of the other wheat in my diet, but have felt great health-wise since having done that. For those who still have wheat as a major part of their diet, this is a great way to get your Bran Flakes if your grocery stores no longer carry the good tasting brands of them.

Post Bran Flakes
This product is execellent. I have eaten many other bran cereals by different companies during the time Post Bran cereal had became unavailable in my local groceries. I have found Post to be the most effective. Post Bran Cereal is a 100% natural and high in fiber and potassium and taste great. I am so please to know that this cereal is still available for purchase. I just hope it will continue to be available, because there is no cereal that can replace Post Bran Cereal

Post better not stop making MY cereal!
Update Dec. 2013.... The price has doubled on these 4 boxes of cereal. I won't be buying again. I have been eating this Bran cereal for many years. Before that, my husband & I loved Post's Fruit & Bran which was basically the same flake with added things like raisins, almonds, dried fruit. Gradually, it disappeared from all the grocery store shelves in the area so I ordered it from Amazon for awhile until it became too expensive. Now I think it's gone completely. Luckily, I started buying this one and just added my own almonds, raisins, fruit, etc. Once again, my favorite cereal has disappeared from out local grocery store shelves. Back to Amazon. So, for now, and hopefully the foreseeable future, I'll be buying it here. I can't find any other bran-type flake that tastes this good.

Better Than Some, Crumby Not Flaky
Having waited to review this product until I had consumed the four boxes in the pack, here is the scoop: 29g carbs, higher than many cereals but lower than some brands considered "healthy". Salt: 190g. The flavor is very subtle to begin with so the adding of this much salt per serving did not change the fact. Protein 4g. Again, better than many not as good as others. Insoluble fiber 6g (good for regularity), <1g soluble fiber (higher better). Possibly because this was shipped as a pack, there was an upper layer of flakes on top of crushed flakes. So, mostly flakes beaten into smaller pieces. Regrettably for those of us looking to reduce carb (and salt) intake, cereal grains are a tough category. There are many cereals on-line with a much better nutritional profiles but expensive to very expensive for a daily user.
