as good as it gets without the DEERE price tag....
i have use I&T for DECADES . i will buy more . HOWEVER , i should note that I&T isnt original so some specs or procedure can be "off" slightly and yet over past 35 years NONE of the discrepancies has ever caused a problem . I&T does pull from ORIGINAL information ; that is often the source of that ; meaning you mite buy "original" and find the same if updates are missed .overall , I&T is most affordable for tractor restorers and novice . AND interesting FACT , I&T uses PARAGRAPH , not page to guide you from index . it is confusing until you realize it is EXACT and take you directly not just to page but to actual start of topic without wasted book space . illistration include parts style breakdowns a itemized listings .enjoy

EXCELLENT SOURCE OF INFORMATION
I purchased this manual for assembly and disassemble information. While the tractors are basic mechanically, the book does really well in describing disassemble and assembly with lots of pictures and diagrams. In some areas It could have been more thorough but for the price it can't be beat. I have used it repeatedly and it has paid for itself over and over again.

useful book
This is a good manual. I'm restoring a B and it answers many assembly/dis-assembly questions I have had so far. It is written for a mechanic, so it assumes you know how to use tools and know the basics of vehicle parts and terminology.

John Deere Shop Manual by Haynes
We gave gotten good use out of this shop manual. We would recommend the IT brand. My husband is a retired mechanic and owns a JD B model tractor and had to do a lot of work on it when he got it.

good info
IT shop manuals are the way to go for any old farm tractor you may have. We have several of them. Some were printed years ago and some brand new. But they all have the same good info that a guy needs in them.

not detailed as much as a car or truck repair manual
the I&T shop manual for the john deere letter series really lacks details. as you read it, it seems like it was printed in Japanese then translated to English. I understand this is not a car or truck but since the manual is less then 100 pages, details have been left out and information is a bare minimum. I found it to be rather useless while removing a powr trol unit and removing the oil pump assembly as a paragraph of writing was not enough to walk me through it. definitely does not deserve the shop manual title but more of a basics book.
