Stylish and Functional
I love this little alarm clock! I wanted to replace the old school one that I had at my bedside since I was in high school (8 years ago) and I was looking for something with a super simple design that didn't stand out as super bulky and was more on the minimalist side of things. I absolutely adore the look of this clock and it's super easy to read the display. I have tested mine for batteries and they work well, but I'm just currently using it plugged in. I will say since the display is a bit bright it can interfere with your sleep if you're anything like me and need pitch-black darkness. Even the dimmest setting is really bright, but it makes for good light in the middle of the night if you have to get up for anything and don't want to kick on a light. It also is an easy fix at night if you want darkness; just turn the face of the clock flat on the tableside/nightstand/dresser for the night and there's no worry about the bright light. If I need to see the time I just turn it over. I will mention that I have not used the alarm feature on this clock just yet, but that's because my phone alarm is much better for me since I have it set to make me solve math problems in order to turn it off. All in all the clock feature is so simple and it's easy to use. it comes with a short cord, but it's not a problem for me personally. shouldn't be too hard to find a longer one online for cheap if that's a problem in the end. Also please keep in mind the size of the clock. It's not big at all. I can fit the whole thing in my palm and my hands are small. So there's that to keep in mind. Overall: Pros: Small, compact, simple and clean design, easy to use with instructions, lightweight, batteries are a good back up if your power goes out Cons: the dimmest setting is still bright, not real wood (like a plastic laminate), old-school button set up, possibly short cord Ultimately I love this and it's just what I wanted as far as aesthetics and function. ^^

Stylish and functional, but exceptionally difficult to set up
I'll be honest, I felt compelled to write this review to save some other poor soul from the grief I faced trying to set this thing up for the sole purpose of telling the time. True, plenty of other reviewers have complained of the same, but I thought, just how hard could it be to set up a teeny little clock? Well, apparently the answer is quite, so hopefully this review is helpful to someone. This clock arrived in a small box packaged in a padded envelope. the clock was neatly wrapped in bubble wrap. I was a bit caught off guard by the size. I knew the dimensions, but actually seeing it in person is a different experience. It is quite small. The clock came with a USB cable that was of decent length to plug in and set the thing on a nearby dresser, but if you're strapped for outlets just be aware this is does not come with a super lengthy cord, so an extension cord might be necessary. So then it came time for setup. I really, really only need this clock for the time and for no other purpose. I turned to the setup directions and initially it seemed straightforward, albeit needlessly lengthy if you have no use for any other function but the clock. You first hold down the "set" button and begin by setting up the year by pressing the up button. Okay, done. Then you hit the "set" button again to progress to the month/day setting. Cool, set the month, no problem. And then.... then what do I do? The directions merely state that you set the month by pressing up or down, but not how to progress to setting the day. They just say something to the effect of "when the day setting flashes, use the up/down button to set." But for the life of me, I could not figure out how to get the day to flash! Merely pressing "set" again like you do after setting the year seemingly exited the setup menu to some other mysterious menu I have no desire to ever decipher. After many minutes of fiddling around, I held the "set" button down for a couple seconds after setting the month. Bingo! That allowed me to progress to setting the day. I again held "set" for a couple seconds to then progress to setting up the remainder of the functions (12/24 hour, time, etc.) This just happens to be the key. While you only press "set" rapidly once to progress from setting the year to the month setting, you must hold it for a couple seconds to progress from month to day, from day to 12/24 hour setting, etc. So needlessly complicated, and something that really should be cleared up in the instruction manual. Aside from the ridiculous setup, I like this clock. It is simple and stylish. It is bright, but it dims automatically during the evening, and can be manually dimmed further if one prefers. My only other complaint is I wish the color of the light was more of a true wight versus the blue LED appearance this has, but no biggie. A well-known online museum store sells a very, very similar clock for more than triple the price, so this is truly a bargain. Overall, now that I have it set up, I'm glad I got this clock, and I'd recommend it!

Keep the instruction pamphlet. Then bask in the awesomeness.
This clock is smaller than I anticipated (in a good way, it belongs in a very small spot!) the finish is really awesome. It’s easy to read. It’s REALLY stinking bright if you see it in the dark but it automatically dims after 7pm. You can either have it display time only (in 12 hour format or military time), or have it rotate time, date, and temperature. You DO need to read the instructions to set it. I had to dig the pamphlet out of my trash because I was overconfident in my clock-setting skills with this one! Would buy again, definitely. Actually I might, I hate the clock in my daughters room. Edit: (man, I really need to wait a while before reviewing.) Battery life super sucks. I’m talking a few days with brand new energizers. It makes it seem like it’s broken but it’s not. So if you intend on leaving it somewhere plugged in, cool. But if you were planning battery usage, eh. Still love it, but seemed relevant.

So sad it doesn’t work
We got this clock for my daughters desk for distance learning. We thought it was perfect. Had option for 3 alarms. Easy to see. But the batteries died within a day. We replaced the batteries and it wouldn’t work. So we bought the power cord (because one doesn’t come with it) and it still doesn’t work. Maybe this one is just defective. Either way we are returning and will find something else for her.

Basic alarm clock
Update: Alarm clock stopped working in less than 2 months. Tried new batteries but it blinks and then goes out again. This alarm clock has an awesome display but other than that it's just a basic alarm clock. I purchased this in place of using my cell phone alarm so I can leave my phone in the other room and not instantly awake and feel the need to hit the ground running. There is no volume control and only one sound. I had to fold up paper and tape it over the speaker to wake up somewhat peacefully; its pretty loud. Also, anytime an alarm needs to be changed you have to go through everything again; the time doesn't have to be set again but there is only one way in and one way out. Overall the clock would be great for travel, the size is nice and its LOUD. I wouldn't purchase this as an everyday home alarm clock.

Oh were great.with the option to change or have delivered to neighbour if your not in.
This is Sony's budget product, so adjust expectations accordingly. The antenna is a trailing wire type, the tuning is an analog dial, but the DAB version is about £75, and the bedroom clock is occasionally used as a radio, and the price is good. Control is a bit strange, some features are not obvious before reading the command, and the first one sent must return the high-pitched electrophonic sound described by others and continue until the backup battery is removed. My old Sony dream machine has been going on for years, just retired, because it turns yellow in the sun, this is not going to last for so long I doubt, but the black cube looks good. I bought this clock and didn't read the comments correctly, so I was a bit worried after reading it. But I have to say that I don't have the problems described by other critics. I am very satisfied with my clock radio (my mobile phone is placed at the bedside table, there is no noise problem). Yes, the buttons are small but I use them without problems because they are very far apart and easy to find even in the dark! In short, it does what it says and it works fine, if I need it, I will buy it again :)

Decent design but has some major problems.
This clock is pretty good at first glance... it displays the time with in a good size and also show the temperature and the relative humidity. Initially it was a bit to bright, so I turned it to the lower setting. As other reviewers have pointed this out, the wood grain is basically a plastic self adhesive wall paper applied to all sides of the clock and the digits for the display kind of shine through it, which probably explains why they made it so bright. The main problem with this clock is that it DRAINS the batteries in about a week... I used brand new alkaline batteries (not the rechargable ones) so I expected at least a few months of use out of them. I have other battery operated clocks that ran over a year on the same type of batteries. Unless you love supporting battery companies to buy new ones every 1 to 2 weeks, I think this is a deal-breaker for me. I have never used the alarm feature at all, so that did not add into exchausting the batteries so quickly... Also I did not enable and try to use the voice control features either, but I was not looking for that, since I can always ask Alexa for the time... As for accuracy, the clock (running on batteries) seeems to lose about 1 second each day, but since the battery will run out before this would add up to anything more significant, this is just a minor quibble. The design is nice, but it is a triangular log, so if you put the clock higher up on a cabinet or a shelf that is above eye-level, then the display will be tilted 60 degrees, so 30 degrees up toward the ceiling, making it harder to read when sitting down on laying on a bed. If you want a reliable and long term clock term clock that you can just glance at when you need it, then this is probably not a good choice. It is decorative and may look nice and it will draw some attention to itself because of its somewhat unusual design and coloring, but you will need to operate this from a USB power source (adapter power brick not included) or stuff it with batteries when you want it to be displayed. Because it was not too expensive and it is a neat uniqe design, I will not be returning it... but it will not be in daily use either. Most likely it will be relegated to the junk drawer, probably to be never used again, but it does look nice, even if it has a utility factor near zero. Hope this was helpful to you. BTW, you will see a day or two in advance before the battery dies, because the display digits brightness will start to become uneven and some digita will appear noticably brighter than others. Pros: - nice design (triangular, wood grain imitation) - bright display (white digits) - 12 or 24 hour display - temperature display - humidity display Cons: - drains batteries very quickly - only USB cable, but no power adaptor - angled display makes it harder to see if placed higher up - loses about 1 second per day - all plastic (no real wood used in the casing) Untested: - voice control - USB based power

Didn’t know what time it was!!
I needed a clock because I got a new DVR and to my surprise has no time display, boo Spectrum!!! I depended on that cable box as my clock!!! Problem fixed!! This is a great buy! Nice and small and very sleek! It’s a little cube and I love how the display automatically dims from 7pm-5 am!!!! Also a plus, fits right on top of my Apple TV!!!
