The Complete Concordance is an entertaining and incredibly useful guide to Stephen King’s epic Dark Tower series by Robin Furth and features a foreword by Stephen King himself. The Dark Tower series is the backbone of Stephen King's legendary career. Eight books and more than three thousand pages make up this bestselling fantasy epic. The Complete Concordance covers books I-VII and The Wind Through the Keyhole and is the definitive encyclopedic reference book that provides readers with everything they need to navigate their way through the series. With hundreds of characters, Mid-World geography, High Speech lexicon, and extensive cross-references, this comprehensive handbook is essential for any Dark Tower fan. Includes: -A Foreword from Stephen King -Characters and Genealogies -Magical Objects and Forces -Mid-World and Our World Places -Portals and Magical Places -Mid-, End-, and Our World Maps -Timeline for the Dark Tower Series -Mid-World Dialects -Mid-World Rhymes, Songs, and Prayers -Political and Cultural References -References to Stephen King’s Own Work Review: Essential for us Tower junkies - The Dark Tower is a way of life. For those true appreciators of the series, you know what I mean. A friend of mine, the friend who actually recommended, relentlessly I might add, that I read The Dark Tower series (I being the King fan, he being the Tower fan), after finishing the series said to me, not unseriously: "Honestly, I haven't come across anything in the real world that disproves the existence of the Dark Tower." That's the kind of affect that the series can have on people, and it was the same for me. All that being said, if you're a Dark Tower fan, this book is a must. I carry it with me frequently wherever I go, so that at any given time, if I have a down moment, I can stroll through it and get a taste of Mid-World, of the memories, of the journey of the Dark Tower series. It's so complete, from details you might have missed or forgotten, to the languages and terms of the various worlds in the books, to the mythologies and stories, even creation stories, to maps of the ka-tet's journey, and diagrams, my favorite being of Maturin carrying the universe on his shell, with the universe being represented as the Dark Tower and the guardians and their beams all connecting. Essentially it's a bible for the Dark Tower, and because I'm a bit odd like that and a considerable fanatic, I find myself wondering: why would anyone bother with actual religious texts when this exists? I joke, but that's the beauty of the series, and the beauty that this book exists. Highly recommended! It's more than a reference guide: it's a way of life. Review: And she does mean Complete. - Wow. I was extremely impressed with the quality of this book, which contained every bit of trivia and backstory you could possibly want to know about The Dark Tower series. It has every single person mentioned in any situation. Want to know the flight number, captain, crew members, and all passengers mentioned on Eddie's plane trip? That's on page 97. I read the whole thing straight through, and it was very helpful to jog my memory and clear up things I didn't quite get the first time around. Robin Furth, the author, is probably the most qualified person to write a concordance for this, and she quite possibly knows more about The Dark Tower series than Stephen King himself. The version I have was printed before "The Wind Through The Keyhole", and also it does not mention the somewhat extracanonical graphic novels (even though they are approved by King). The maps are helpful, but I would have enjoyed more of them. For an authoritative, exhaustive concordance of the series, it is the best you can get.

Outstanding Guide to the World of Roland and the Dark Tower.
Welcome to the world of Roland, his fellow Gunslingers and the Dark Tower - It is a wonderous and complex universe. This tome will act as a kind of guide and assist you with any questions you might have. This concordance was actually put together as a reference for Stephen King himself, as he explains in the beginning of this very excellent and detailed document. Here within lies the Dark Tower and all its mysteries, names, characters, locations, mythology, etc. This is an ideal book for the Dark Tower fan, or fanatic. The details refer back to actual page numbers of the original novels, the new revised editions, etc and the format is easy to use. Ideally, finding answers to your questions is the key to a well put together reference book - and this book has been researched and put together expertly. I would strongly suggest this book for an accompanyment to the Dark Tower Series. Long Days and Pleasant Nights. turtlex

A must-have for Dark Tower fans
I'm a big fan of the Dark Tower series and recently decided to map Mid-World (cartography is a hobby of mine). This is very challenging for a number of reasons - the world has moved on, directions and distances are no longer reliable, and King was not necessarily consistent about geography. But it's been a fun project for me and the Dark Tower Concordance helped tremendously. What I was not expecting was to read it straight through, cover to cover, but I did because it's fantastic - a trip down memory lane combined with interesting details gleaned by Robin Furth during her time as Stephen King's research assistant.

An interesting reference for Dark Tower Constant Readers
Basically an encyclopedia of Dark Tower characters and places. From what I understand it was a request by The Master to Robin Furth so that he could have easy access to his own work so he would muddle up the story. A great conversation piece, and interesting to read in short bursts. (you can't read a dictionary for fun). I will be getting the rest when I get my over time back at work

books24seven delivers!!!
I decided to begin reading The Dark Tower series by Stephan King. It seemed like a compendium to keep by my side would help me to enjoy the entire series. I looked for one in the Kindle store and decided it might be better to have an ink and paper copy ( it would be easier to make notes and see maps). It was a bit cheaper to get a used copy so I looked for one. There were several options, but I chose one from books24seven as it was reported to be in the best condition for the price. The book came a day early and was in better shape than advertised. I will buy from books24seven if I need to.

Whish it came in a bigger size.
A very solid work. Bunches of information. The worst I can saw about it is that I wish the pages (Especially the maps.) were bigger; like, coffee table size.

Great book for the journey
So many characters and places are tied to the Dark Tower as any constant reader knows. This is a great concordance that helps recall characters! Thank you!

Completo e bem documentado
Se o próprio Stephen King usou "The Complete Concordance" para terminar a belíssima saga da Torre Negra, gostou e achou muito bem feito. Você, fiel leitor, vai poder desfrutar ainda mais e conectar todas as peças sem perder o rumo.
