Batman: The Long Halloween

I really enjoyed this comic book. Good story line and captivating for all. It's been a long time since I read a comic book and this brought back memories.

Brilliantly paced and intricately woven story playing out as a great detective epic that will keep you guessing and the artwork really makes the whole thing pop, it's easily one of the best batman stories and essential reading if you are a longtime fan of the dark knight or someone who hasn't read many batman comics. Recommend reading this as a follow on from Frank Miller's seminal Year One.

I'm quite a fan of batman and as this regularly described as a classic I thought I'd give it a try. I'm glad I did, the art Isn't amazing but its not too be either and the story is gripping. It really focused on batman detective sides which I really like and has cameos from a few more famous batman villains but focuses mainly on the crime boss 'Falcone' and the mysterious 'Holiday' a killer that commit his/her murders on holidays. All in all a great read and I'd highly recommend it.

the long halloween tells the story of batman, Jim gordan and harvy dent as they try to unravel a year long case of homicide committed on public holidays. Delving into the story of the falcone crime family and portraying the famous origin of two-face, this book also manages to pack in an astounding amount of batmans rouge gallery, from classic villans like the joker to the more obscure Solomon Grundy. It took me a while to get used to the art style. The books use of block colour and heavy shadow is reminiscent of pulp and noir books and after the first few panels I found myself apreciating the dark tone and wondered why I had ever doubted the artists choice. All in all, if you're a fan of batman, mystery, detectives, super heroes or even just fancy a good narrative, you will find something to love in the long halloween.

I can now see where a lot of the themes in the dark knight trilogy were pulled from after reading this. Fantastic story will keep you guessing with twists and turns throughout. Has a great mystery at the core of the story. Loeb had done an amazing job on this and i love tim sales art. Fans of the comic medium must give this a try.

What a classic

A brilliant graphic novel, with great appearances from Batman's classic villains. Read it in one go as I didn't want to put it down. The ending was a great twist.

Many considered Year One to be the best Batman story, but for me The Long Halloween takes top prize. Read it all in one sitting, eyes were acheing but couldn't put it down.

Batman at its best. Comics müssen nicht schwarz oder weiß sein,am interessantesten sind die Zwischenfälle! Alle Figuren der Geschichte sind glaubhaft und mit Tiefgang gezeichnet.

Es una historia que define y forma a Batman Me encanta que sea una historia de misterio y asesinatos que mezcla a batman, su lado detective, y a todos sus villanos con la Mafia. Al final se convierte en una gran historia que parece real, mientras se mezcla con la mitología del personaje.

It's a classic. The greatest detective in an oldschool investigation. No special gadgets, just the bat, cat woman and Jim Gordon trying to solve a mafia Mystery.

Ottima lettura di Batman. I disegni non mi sono piaciuti perché non sono nello stile che prediligo, ma comunque un bellissimo volume
