It works as described. but the cords are super thin. I do not expect it to last very long.

It's a nice little gadget. However, there is definitely an expiration date on the retracting mechanism. My purchase from September 2015 stopped retracting about a month ago. Another purchase in October 2015 (as a gift), stopped working yesterday. Both cables still charge, but they no longer retract, which is a bummer. They both seem to have lasted about 6-7 months, which isn't so bad considering spending about $9 for that many months of consistent use.

Retracts properly! This can't be said for his older brother with the Thunderbolt head. That said the cable is a little too long on both sides so it never fully retracts. I can live with that though.

Maybe it's because I have a new gadget and I've only had it for a few days but I am enjoying my retractible cable. It was a little pricier than what I was planning to buy but after reading a few reviews, opted not to cheap out and buy something that cost less. I'm planning to take this on vacation and needed something reliable. I might check in after our trip to report how it holds up.

Eight months of very light use and it has stopped retracting. Not a lot of reviews here, but I'm seeing a theme. I store this fully retracted and in the 8 months I've had it I haven't extended it more than 6 times. Now it doesn't retract. I have to think that if I actually used it the way most people would, it would have failed much sooner. With that in mind there's no way I could recommend this for anyone.

I'm done with ReTrak. Ordered a two iPad cables, had for a few days and one broke. Sent back and second broke within a couple more days.IT'S NOT ME....IT IS A POOR REDESIGN THAT RETRAK DID and its seriously flawed. I have several ReTrak USB to micro retractable cables that I've had for over a year and ZERO ISSUES. I've purchased and had four of these iPad cables break....USELESS NOW since I need something compact for travel.Thanks for nothing ReTrak

Excellent product I would buy it again, and recommend it to anyone who's looking for something like this especially for this priceWorks exactly like it should be not much to say about it! A little bit pricey. But the Perfection has its priceI would recommend to a friend!

much more bulky than a lightning retractable that was an Amazon brand

Great for people who do't like fighting with long chords everywhere. I thought at first it did not work as it was not retracting, but you just have to pull the chord out all the way and it snaps back and retracts. Really useful for me as I have an old phone but a USB plug in my car arm rest to hook my itunes up to the car, and having a long chord kept getting int he way of closing the arm rest. This makes it easy to retract back up and stow away.

received and returned within 24 hrs looking so forward to this item but disappointed!-- doesn't retract packaged looked deceiving thinking it's a solid retractable. stay away! it'll breakdown sooner or later eventually.
