tigerbox 2 Litre Lorbex Specialist Orchid Bark Compost

I’ve just repotted my orchid (note: I did use clay pebbles as a bottom layer, about 5cm) into a 15cm pot, and it took most of the bag to fill it up. If I hadn’t used the pebbles, I would not have enough soil. My orchid really likes it and basically came back from the dead, but as I washed the bark, it was a bit difficult to drain and left a mess. The soil is quite absorbent, but leaves room for the roots to breathe, and has good drainage. Overall, I’m pretty happy with it, the only issues being that it’s a bit tedious to prepare and you don’t get that much soil.

Quick delivery considering we’re in the middle of a pandemic! I’ve never had an orchid before but was given one as leaving present from a colleague so thought I’d better put it in a bigger pot, full intention of keeping this thing alive! Only planted weekend just gone so hopefully this bark will help me help keep it alive!

I repotted my orchids using this orchid compost 2-4 weeks ago, and they are flourishing in their new pots.The compost has a strange pepperminty smell which was disconcerting.
