Transformers Studio Series 18 Deluxe Bumblebee - Action Figures, Multicolor

This is my fifth studio series transformer and my second ss deluxe (my first being camaro bumblebee), I've seen other videos of the other deluxes and have seen them in store but bumblebee is probably the best in terms of looks and articulation, it also does a really good job in terms of weapon storage in the back of the robot mode and the bottom of the vehicle. It's really impressive considering it's only 20 dollars, I'd definitely recommend if you want a good ss deluxe or if you're just a fan of bumblebee.

A bit pricey.

This transformer requires a bit of time to understand the mechanics of the transformation process. Once you get a careful grasp on how everything fits together, the experience of transformation improves. The instruction manual is terribly unhelpful. YouTube reviews are the way to go. Notable issues with transformation are as follows: The waist pivot joint has to be perfectly aligned to complete alt mode. The locking tabs that hold the legs together won’t lock unless the sliding knee joints are slid close together. Many of the joints are stiff and will move more easily with time. Hit the hip ball joints with some nail polish to stiffen them up. There is ankle tilt even though it’s not obvious at first. The mini gun is supposed to replace the arm as an option, but mine won’t stay in so some type of mod will be necessary. The car mode looks great, rolls great, and the accessories are a nice bonus, although the small size makes handling difficult for larger hands. Robot mode- 7.5 out of 10 for looks. This is best suitable for an adult collector for display purposes, I’d say no way for kids play.

This was to have been a gift for my 8 year old grandson. My 37 year old son, an original Transformer kid (back when they made these toys out of metal) had to figure out how to "transform" it, and while doing it he asked me, "How much did you have to pay for this Mom?" I was embarrassed to tell him how high it was! It's a piece of plastic garbage. Even after being assembled into the Beetle Bug, it looked broken and none of the seams came together right. I think this was a rush to production, banking on the current popularity of the new movie and the Christmas panic to drive sales. It certainly did for me. What a waste of money and I apologized to my grandson.

My son loves it, not for small children there are small pieces that a baby can swallow. We watched the movie after opening.

Everything about the Transformers: Bumblebee movie was a nice breath of fresh air from the cluttered spectacle fest that is the Bayverse, particularly the designs for the robot characters themselves. Majority of the Transformers this time around have a more G1 based appearance and Bumblebee is no exception. Sporting a much younger appearance and the Volkswagen Beetle vehicle mode, this figure has got to be the BEST version of Bumblebee out there!!!
