Q: Should the product be applied, both on the rubber keyboard, as well as on the contacts of the Printed Circuit Board ??

Hi. Keypad Fix is applied to the rubber keyboard, only in the areas where electrical contact needs to be made or improved, in a thin layer which is the thickness of cellophane tape. Be sure the surface is completely clean before you apply it. Then allow it to dry overnight before using.

Q: Can this be used to renew the conductivity of the black traces on the remote circuit board? The rubber keys are not my problem.

I don't think it would work at all for repairing the traces. Notice that the traces are actually two squiggly lines which do not connect. The whole point is the traces are an open circuit ... the black pad is conductive due to the carbon coating, and when the black pad is pressed against the traces it completes the circuit (in effect, momentarily switching that circuit ON). The traces are usually a part of the printed circuit and shouldn't become damaged in normal use, but often become dirty. The black pad owes its conductivity to the black carbon coating, and when that coating becomes worn or dirty it does not complete the circuit when pressed against the traces. The poor durability of the carbonized black pads is why remotes eventually become problematic. Try first cleaning both the traces and black pads with a Q-Tip soaked in 90% isopropyl alcohol (get at drugstore) before taking more drastic action.

Q: Will this product adhere to the inside of a rubber security system touchpad and work?

I don't know what your security system touchpad looks like or is made of, but this product is made for (silicone) rubber keypads which have carbon contacts on them. Over time, the carbon contacts on the back of the rubber can wear off, and this "ink" replaces that carbon. I have used it on things such as TV remote controls and alarm clock buttons, with much success. As long as you take special care in cleaning the contact before applying the ink, it should work fine.

Q: Will this work on older circuit boards with the black (carbon) pads?

Yes it will. I used it on 20 year old carbon pad buttons for simmons adjustable bed controllers. Just follow instructions carefully. If coating wants to show blisters or bubbles just thin with alcohol.
