Q: How much weight can this hold?

It's a belt buckle. Not really a load bearing device. I use it for a duty belt. Works fine holding the weight of ammo, gun,cuffs, etc.

Q: What makes this a no-sew buckle. Can it utilize a pre sewn loop?

This buckle is designed to allow a belt tail to pass through the buckle and by tension, tighten against itself to maintain its position. It will not open to provide a previously looped and sewn belt end, but one could loop around the buckle end and then sew the belt. This would thwart the buckle design, however.

Q: How long is the inch wide buckle when latched?

I use thin and thick belt straps for this, no problem.

Q: Will it pass a TSA checkpoint?

It's METAL, so it will set the metal detector off. It's NOT sharp or pointed, but it is metal and has weight. WHO REALLY KNOWS WHAT THE TSA WILL OR WON'T APPROVE!!!
