Useless!

Most of the package drop boxes I found here would not accommodate the most common size packages I get from Amazon and elsewhere, so I gave this one a shot. It's well constructed. However, it's not an amazing solution.The pros: - metal, sloped top, two compartments with the larger one able to take sizable packages and the smaller having a generous slot - this could work as a main mailbox in addition to package drop.The cons: Once the bottom compartment is locked, it's locked till you retrieve packages. This makes it possible for only one carrier to drop off packages. The upper compartment has a slot, but also a combo lock. I leave it unlocked with instructions to place smaller packages inside, then to spin the combo dials. This also makes it possible for only one carrier to use the compartment. Both compartments rely on the carrier following instructions and actively locking the box.Hopefully between the two compartments, carriers will follow instructions and I'll have less package theft. It's not as convenient as the drops that let multiple carriers drop boxes in, but since those mostly wouldn't accommodate the packages I get, what's the point?
