Great, but does fire hot popcorn and kernels at you
The media could not be loaded. I have wanted one of these since I was a little girl, finally got one and it is better than expected. Perfect, fluffy popcorn in minutes. LO is on second bowl today!People have complained about smell but this was only ever going to be used in our kitchen and I haven't had any problems with smells other than the smell of popcorn. The only down-side is that this does really fire hot popcorn and kernels at you. I placed a large mixing bowl underneath this as advised by other reviewers and it still managed to fire several pieces of hot popcorn and unpopped kernels hotter than the sun at me and on the floor (the end of the video shakes as I couldn't hold the camera steady). I thought LO would be interested in making popcorn with me but won't go near it since it fired a boiling hot kernel on his foot. No actual burns have occurred, but you have been warned! It is a bit noisy (listen to video), but it lasts such a short time it doesn't bother me. I'm looking forward to experimenting with other flavours.

Fill to the MAX and stand back!
Like most people, I was disappointed at the number of unpopped kernels and decided to use less corn next time to see if this would help...then I saw the word MAX on the measuring cup. There was nothing in the user instructions that says "fill to MAX line" but instead it says "do not use more than one measuring cup..." Well, I did use one measuring cup, not LESS THAN one measuring cup! I bet you're not supposed to do this (but the instructions don't say otherwise) so I sent the unpopped kernels for another "spin" and about 80% of them popped.Yes, there was some odour when used for the first time but this is gone by the second use.Next up, it's very entertaining. I do not own a large bowl SHORT enough to sit under the spout so I had to hold it at an angle "taking care that the edge of the bowl touches the popcorn maker." :)It was fun to watch the popcorn coming out of the spout until one or two random kernels flew into the bowl and decided to pop INSIDE the bowl, sending popcorn flying everywhere. I imagine I will still find popcorn hidden in corners of my kitchen for months to come. This gets 4 stars, primarily because of the less than informative instructions and the design flaw of making the spout too low. Otherwise, it's a great addition to the appliance family and provides great savings on buying microwave popcorn. And, add your own salt and butter/flavouring after the corn is popped. It doesn't say that in the instructions either but common sense tells me it would gunk up the popper pretty quickly.

Worst product, don’t buy
Worst product, the machine gets too hot and moving . It doesn’t make pop corn properly. Half of the seeds are collected in the pot which is not popped. You have to be very carefully collecting the popcorn it flies everywhere. I will never recommend this product.

Brilliant snack machine!
Perfect gift and now ordered one for myself. Was blown away by the efficiency and ease of use. Great value for money! Healthier to pop your own and control the additives (salt, sugar… and the like) unlike store bought ready popped or microwave versions

About 60% popping rate
Firstly, the package arrived looking like someone had already opened it - the box was misshapen, seals looked stuck back on, not quite lining up where they should be. The guide inside was crumpled. There was no recipe booklet in the box, despite the box saying so clearly on the outside. The machine itself is alright, sounds like a loud hairdryer - not a problem per se, but the kernels don't all pop, I'd say only to about 60%. The result is also quite bland, because - as there is no fat involved - no seasoning will stick to it, unless you pour syrup or butter over it. This is not a problem - I wanted an air popper to avoid the extra calories - but something to be mindful of. The machine also gets quite hot, so something to keep in mind if kids are around. The kernels won't all land in the bowl in front - some of the unpopped kernels will jump out all over the place, pushed out by the popped kernels, so a bit of sweeping up to do after.Overall - an unenthusiastic okay, but expected better.

Slimming alternative to crisps
Great hit with the grandchildren and an alternative to crisps as no fat is required.
