Good but not great compact flashlight
This is a very versatile mini flashlight with some odd quirks that I find a bit annoying as compared to some of the other mini flashlights that I have from Fenix and Olight. The headlamp feature is really what makes it stand out in terms of versatility - no other mini flashlight I have can convert so easily into a headlamp. The way this works with the LUMINTOP is you slide the barrel of the flashlight into a silicone holder (which takes some effort) and then rotate the lens 90º to face forward. It seems gimmicky at first, but it really does work quite well. However converting it back and forth between say an "EDC" light and a headlamp is a bit of a hassle since it takes a few minutes to extract from or insert into the silicone holder, since it grips it fairly well.Other things I like about this flashlight:1. The option to have the power button glow green. By rapidly clicking the power button 7 times, you can turn on or off the option to have the power button glow. This makes the light much easier to locate in the dark, and also helps to activate the light in the dark without having to feel around for the rubber switch.2. Good construction - the machining and anodizing is great quality - I don't see any manufacturing defects, burrs, or seams. The lens is clear and bright, and the switch operates cleanly and gives good tactile feedback.3. Very compact - fits nicely in an elastic loop in an EDC back or backpack, or you can drop it into your pocket or purse.Things I don't like about this flashlight:1. Charging requires removing the battery and then plugging a USB-C cable directly into the top of the battery. I hate this style of charging, but it helps keep the flashlight water resistant/water proof, since there is no charging port to worry about2. No tail cap switch - there is a magnetic base instead. I have big stubby hands and operating the tiny on/off buttons on compact flashlights is always a hassle for me. I MUCH prefer a tailcap switch.3. Weird button function - clicking the button once turns it on to the last used setting. However clicking it while it is on does NOT shut it back off; instead it cycles between brightness modes. To turn it off, you must press and hold. This is the ONLY flashlight I have that operates this way, so I always forget and it really bugs me!4. No pocket clip - in a small flashlight like this, I like to have a removable pocket clip so that it can be secured to the inside of a pants pocket or interior jacket or vest pocket. Your only option for EDC with this light is to just drop it into your pocket.

Easy to stick wherever you need a bit of extra light
After our recent lovely multi-day power outage, I consider myself something of a flashlight connoisseur. I very quickly learned that actually, there are few circumstances in daily life where you really want to dedicate a hand to holding a flashlight. Most of the time, if you're using a flashlight it's because you need more light for *doing* something; working around sudden one-handedness can make more problems than the light solves. That's why this tiny (REALLY tiny) gem was one of the unexpected winners of Flashlight Death-o-thon 2024. It has two features intended to work around this: (1) it comes with an included headband, and (2) it has a magnetic end. Because of its light weight, it sticks very well to any magnetizable surface; because the "head" can be angled and repositioned, the surface doesn't even need to be above the thing you're looking at. It can be off to the side or… etc. You also don't have to remove it from the attached headband to make this work, so you can easily put it on and take it off as the situation demands.Since Flashlight Death-o-thon ended I have found myself continuing to use this for odd jobs around the house. It's amazing how quick and easy it is to stick the thing wherever you need a bit of extra light. Sorting socks? Range hood light out? Sharing video from your document camera? Writing desk a bit dim? Tack that bad boy on there! It's a lot like those adhesive-backed LEDs you can get to put in dark closets and cabinets, only (1) it's a lot brighter, (2) you can adjust where it's pointing, (3) you can remove it when you're done, and (4) the sticking actually works (assuming you have as many metal surfaces in your home as I do).In sum, I appreciate this flashlight way more than I expected to. I'm surprised by the way a bit of convenience translates into a whole variety of purposes which a flashlight without this "gimmick" couldn't serve.

It’s TINY!!!
Warning - this flashlight is TINY! It’s perhaps three inches long at most, which is perfect for a pocket or a purse, but is NOT what I expected when I ordered it. It’s small enough that I can fit it inside the poop bag storage pouch we keep on our dogs’ leashes. Functionally, it works well and casts a decent amount of light for a pretty far distance given its size. If you’re looking for a very small, pretty powerful flashlight, this will fit the bill. If you’re looking for what most people think of when they think of a pocket sized flashlight, it won’t.
