Skips laps
I am completely frustrated with this thing. I bought this one because i had an older one that kept skipping laps. I swim 50 laps 3 times a week. This thing gets it wrong 99 times out of a hundred. I keep checking that the settings are right (which they always are), but it randomly drops a laps from the count. I bought the thing because I kept forgetting the lap count. I am 73 and at that age you need every lap you can get. The time and date work great, but if you want a lap counter, this thing just doesn't work.

this is the best lap counting watch I've gotten to use
Overall, this is the best lap counting watch I've gotten to use. I've had not issues, easy to set up, easy to use, and counts laps very accurately. I love it.Pros:More accurate lapcount than other watches I've ownedEasy to set up & get goingCons:- Won't work with kick laps (it goes off the swing of your arm)- Small, but I guess that can be considered a pro too, as it's less resistant.

Dead Battery on arrival
Purchased this watch for my wife who is a competitive swimmer. When it arrived it was not working. No matter what we did it did not work. We considered returning it but then had it checked out. It turns out they shipped it with a dead battery. Surely they can do better and do a simple check to see it the watch is working before it is shipped. Also we had to take on the extra expense of getting the battery replaced. Hopefully it will continue to work as it had to be opened up and after the battery replacement closed back up.

Reliable basic lap counting watch, but feature set inadequate for competitive swimmers & triathletes
I purchased this to count my workout laps a few months after a began swimming regularly. It does a very good job of counting laps, as long as use do a strong push-off from the pool wall. The type of turn does not matter. Occasionally it missed a lap of my backstroke - perhaps my push off is weaker. Like all such watches, it counts arm movement so kick board laps won't be counted. It does fine with drills so long as the arm movement isn't vastly different than conventional strokes. The programming is far from intuitive, but once you figure it out works reliably. I always leave it in lap counting mode because of the confusing programming. I also always pause it during rest breaks because too long a rest break will cause it to "time out" or shut itself off from counting laps. The watch has held up well except that the gray band is turning greenish from the chlorine, despite being rinsed. The watch and band themselves are a little large on my female wrist. I actually added a little piece of velcro cord wrap to catch the excess strap. My primary complaint with the watch is that I have outgrown it's capability. After six months in organized Masters swim practice, lap counting isn't enough. You can not go back and look at data from earlier sets once you've moved on to the next set. The stopwatch can't be used in lap counting mode. It doesn't identify which stroke was used. Data can't be uploaded or really looked at once that day is over. All in all, it is a fine watch for counting laps, but I would suggest Masters swimmers, triathletes, & competitive swimmers look at the more expensive garmin or suunto watches.

Lightweight and reliable
Very nice watch. Lightweight. Does the job. Lets you swim freely without the need to count the pools. I checked it a few times and it seems to count correctly. I am still learning how to use all its functionalities.

Dark Face Hard to Read
I have been using the Swimovate products for years. I got this because it was a few dollars cheaper. I will not get this version again. The product is still very good. It is just very hard for me to read. I had to switch to clear goggles so I could read the dial. Unfortunately there is no way to make it lighter.I will know for next time.

Hard to use, weak battery
Very unfriendly to use, It is hard to go back to main screen. Confusing design when using the buttons.I will give it a 3 star if it does not shut down after 7 months after it received it because of dead battery. Changing the battery is not a walk in the park. It is very hard to put the rubber washer in the right place. Only after quite I few try that I am satisfy its placement. If it leaks tomorrow when I go swimming, I will come back to give it a -1 star.Suggestion, make the groove that house the rubber washer deeper and use a larger size of washer.

Leaky new swim watch
The watch was working fine upon arrival and quit when the wife got it wet. It's a swim watch and should be water proof!! Once it dried out a day later it began to work almost completely. I am returning the watch for a replacement.
