Works with Chromecast HD with NO dropouts
I had a different model I bought earlier. It would randomly drop communications, the very thing I didn't want and got a wired ethernet for in the first place. So I replaced it with this gigabit model. I've never had it so good. I have had perfect connectivity and not a single loss of connectivity and all the video hanging that causes. This works great right out of the box. Do not bother with that 12$ unreliable Zemite thing... for only 5$ more all the dropouts and movie halting stops cold. You will be much happier with this, I promise. I am.

works great
Got this to add a 2.5Gb to laptop and it works wonders, Note I did have to download the drivers and install per the documentation to get the full speed.

PD Works, but limits current in some cases
I love USB-C products with a PD pass-thru, so that I can use the peripheral and charge my laptop at the same time. This is one of the few Gigabit Ethernet adapters available with PD pass-through. I did throughput testing on all three units that I purchased, and they all sustained 1000 Mbps for large transfers, which is fantastic. The reason I subtracted a star is because the PD pass-thru limits current a bit. I only tested at 5V and 20V:5V - Direct connect is 2.8A, when I pass-thru this adapter it drops to 1.4A20V - Direct connect is 2.9A, when I pass-thru this adapter it drops to 2.6ASo if charging a laptop at 20V, not a huge deal, but if charging a tablet or phone at 5V, this will double the charge time.

Works to spec and allows a Quest 3 to connect with an Ethernet cable.

I am using this adapter to attach an Ethernet cable and external USB power bank to provide passthrough power to a Quest 3 and use Steam Link or Virtual Desktop to connect to my PC, for that purpose it works well. The only issue I encountered is that occasionally the connection drops when plugging in the USB power bank -before- the Ethernet cable. This issue appears intermittently so I do not know if it is an issue with the adapter, the Q3 or the power bank but if I plug the power bank in -after- I have established an Ethernet connection with Q3 everything appears to work fine.Overall, the device works perfectly for my use case scenario and I hope it continues to do so, if it fails prematurely or Meta removes the Q3 Ethernet option I will report back.

Good speed when it works, but picky on where it works
Plugged in got it to sync up to my 2.5gb hub and it's pushing a solid 1.7-2.1 gb/s but the device itself has issues when it has to share the bus with another device. The speed starts to drop off when I plug in a USB-C to HDMI to power my portable monitor. This leaves the device very limited to how you use it. It's probably ok to use it on a server for an additional network connection for faster file server access. I only recommend this if you plan not to plug anything other device on the same bus.

Great USB-C to ethernet adapter
This USB-C ethernet adapter seems to be a great ethernet adapter for any mobile device with a USB-C port. The USB-C plug fits a USB-C port well and the ethernet jack fits an ethernet cord well. The adapter cable seems durable, yet flexible and allows the user to position the adapter any way that works best for the computer and ethernet cord. After testing this USB-C ethernet adapter, I found that the adapter was able to reach the 2.5Gbps speed advertised. Overall, this USB-C ethernet adapter seems to work well for a wide range of uses and is able to reach the advertised 2.5Gbps speeds. This adapter would be a handy adapter to keep in a backpack or travel case and will make large file transfers quick and easy.
