I never knew that there was a way to measure if your brake fluid needs to be replaced. This easy to use tool measures the moisture content of the brake fluid to determine if it is compromised. I tested this on a newer model car and the measurement came out to 0% (OK). I then tried it on an older vehicle (2001) that I do not believe has ever had the brake fluid changed and it read 4%, indicating that it needed to be replaced. I am so glad I have this information and can get it changed ASAP.The tool requires 4 AAA batteries (included). The tool itself is simple to use. Make sure the probe is dried off. Set the mode to the correct fluid Type (DOT-3, DOT-4, DOT-5.1, etc). You can also set it to a number of specialized fluids. Once set, simply submerge the probe into the fluid and press the play button. After 10-20 seconds the readout will provide the moisture percentage, along with a symbol indicating whether it is OK, needs attention, or needs to be replaced.No case is included with this device, which would have been nice. Otherwise, very happy with the piece of mind that this provides.

It read 4.0 on all brake fluids, even new ones, why?

This is a very handy brake fluid moisture tester, works quickly and accuratly, super easy to use and fast. Great tool!

I bought this tester because the small ones keep breaking on me over time.This was the worse one I ever bought . It doesn't know the difference between water and brake fluid . Same reading on everything I test. Please don't waste your money. I wrote company and never got reply back
