Q: What color is the base and loose powder? I'm nearly out but dont need the whole kit and I can't find it separately.

It's very light. We have tried all types of regular make up. My 12 yr does use my Bobbie Brown but still not as good for stage as Nye. This works best. Ben Nye powder is sold separately.

It depends on your daughter's skin tone, and the effect she is trying to acheive for her role in the production. I am Hispanic, and have dark brown hair with light skin. I purchased the fairest kit for formal events, but the lip color was the only part of the make up that was not useful for me. I looked washed out wearing the lip color. My son is a theatre major and purchased a kit one tone darker than his skin tone for more dramatic effects on stage. I hope this helps.
