There are a number of different styles for tongs. I watched a number of YouTube videos and this seemed the best and now that I have it I very much like it. The cut outs on the side really do make it non slip which is important because your hands can get a little greasy. Also there is not spring which will eventually loose tension and top working. Finally, the style with the finger rings just looks awkward. I used this over the holidays for our Serano ham and it did a great job. Also helped so that I could arrange the ham neatly on a serving plate.

The tongs work fine and seem a good product. But they arrived in a smashed box and were durty inside. I bought them for a gift but decided to keep them for me (after washing them thoroughly).

Well made, this wide tong fits the hand perfectly and allows one to hold it along with a long knife while slicing jamon. One can then pick the freshly cut parcel of jamon without putting down the knife or moving the other hand off the jamon-holder. It is proper etiquette not to touch the meat with one’s hands especially when serving guests; so this becomes an essential serving tool. You will not be disappointed with this tool.

Solid stainless. Unfortunate deep scratches mar the otherwise utilitarian simplicity of this piece. Maybe it will age well. Perhaps with more use there will be lots more scratches and it will gain a patina with new warmth.

Just what I needed for my Jamon (Serrano) ham. Good size and weight. A little stiff but I think they’ll loosen up with use.
