The Aleister Crowley Manual: Thelemic Magick for Modern Times

This book is fantastic for the one that is new to Ceremonial Magick and Thelema. Perhaps the best message from the author is pushing the reader to practice hard and live Magick so that you do not become an "armchair magician." The book itself is also beautifully crafted.....Can we ever expect a second edition with color illustrations?

Marco's generous and straightforward teaching style got me out of the armchair and pushed me into actually doing magick! This book is a great companion to those seeking introductory guidance into the spiritual practice Crowley named magick with a K. The perfect companion to this volume would be: Adventures of a Magus - The Magick Companion, NOX Edition. It's full of color illustrations of the rituals to aid in visualization. The only other thing you would truly need is a Thoth deck if you don't have one already, I personally enjoy the Large version as it lends itself better to the contemplation/meditation practice in Marco's book. Other materials you can acquire later or find online.Speaking of online, I much prefer Crowley's version of Liber Resh (aka Solar Adorations), which you can easily find on the web. But that's a personal literary preference. You can compare and decide for yourself!If you later have the budget for support material, I would suggest Chicken Qabalah (looking up about the Thelemic Heh - Tzaddi switch) along with some inexpensive calligraphy pens to learn the Hebrew alephbet.One thing to keep in mind though is that the practice of magick will take you out of your comfort zone. It is a longterm journey, and in some cases it might get worse before it gets better.Paraprhasing some prominent occult authors; Adrian Wachter: Doing magick is asking to be changed, shit will be stirred up (Glitch Bottle episode #077). Tommie Kelly : Magick will "ruin" your life (August/2/2023 Instagram). Marco Visconti: It's a path of absolute change, and change comes through pain most of the time (Toth Hermes Season 10 Episode 2).So read the book, do the rituals and stay curious! This book not something I would have easily picked up as a previously religious person. The cover is triggering as it was ment to be. But Marco is an excellent teacher of his craft. And the cover no longer bothers me. I cannot recommend this book enough and the online courses that Marko offers. They are a wealth of information. And he really gives his 100%Please do check out his courses they are amazing.

I can really recommend this book to everyone who wants to take up magick and thelema as a praxis and not just an intelectual endeavor. As someone who has read most of the introductory books about Thelema, I gotta say that Marco Viscontis book shines when it comes to practical step-by-step lessons. So if you wanna learn to do real magick, buy this book.

Un ottimo libro per principianti o per chi vuole interfacciarsi allo studio di Thelema.L'autore non si limita a esporre una serie di nozioni e di lavori da fare, ma riesce a fornire anche dei personali spunti utili per poter ragionarci sopra.Un inglese buono e di facile comprensione (il mio livello è un B2.2, qualche volta ho dovuto cercare qualche termine ma non è stata una costante ricerca), per cui nessun timore riguardo barriere linguistiche (opinione personale: quando si ha la possibilità è sempre buono leggere in lingua determinati testi o fonti).

Bom. Mas muito básico. Sem muitos aprofundamentos, apesar das gravuras de boa qualidade serem muito explicativas. Leia como uma breve introdução a magia ritual.
