Saalt vs Peachlife comparison -- Saalt wins, for me!
I love the Saalt! After doing lots of research, I decided to buy the 2-pack. I'm 27 and have a somewhat outdoorsy job, but no serious exercise (just walking, hiking). The only other cup I've used was the Peachlife (Firm, Magenta). That was my first cup, which I had for a year. It was comfortable, but I struggled getting it to open. I appreciate the Peachlife for being a good training cup for me, but now that I'm comfortable and have a sense of what to do, the Saalt is better. Both the large and small Saalts fit me, but I find the smaller one more comfortable. I've been using Saalt for several months -- this is my permanent cup now and I feel no need to keep looking. If you're trying to decide, here's my comparison:SAALT CUPS vs. PEACHLIFE (Firm)SIZE: Peachlife is between the small and large Saalt in size. If you've bought the 2-pack Saalt and find the small too small and the large too big, Peachlife may be your goldilocks. Peachlife is also narrower in shape and doesn't have a lip on the top of the cup. However, the Peachlife's ring is noticeable if your cup travels or sits low.FIRMNESS: Even Peachlife's "Firm" cup is noticeably softer and less resistant than both the small and large Saalt. Peachlife's products bend under pressure more easily and are generally thought of as a "softer/bendable" cup in terms of firmness. Because I have firmer muscles, I struggled getting Peachlife to open after inserting it and couldn't find a reliable trick even after a year. Saalt is considered "medium" firmness as cups go.STEM: Peachlife's cups have a ring stem. This made me feel more comfortable when I was just starting out because I worried about the cup getting stuck and not being able to grab it with how slippery everything is. Later, I found out **you don't pull the stem to remove a cup!** It's not a tampon. The stem is just for an assist in wiggling the cup down until you can grab the base. Once I learned that this type of removal is comfier, I was more annoyed with the Peachlife stem bc the ring is quite large -- it often slipped out and I could feel it. I'm more comfortable with the Saalt's flexible stem. It's not as sturdy and the lines on it feel like weak points, but the grip is better on the base. Overall I like the Saalt style better. When the Saalt stem slips out, it's not as uncomfortable and I can always trim the stem if it ever gets too bothersome.COMFORT: This is completely subjective, but I find the Saalt cups more comfortable. The stem doesn't bother me as much. Since I walk/hike often and have stronger muscles, the firmness makes the Saalt cups easier to insert. I use the C-fold for the Saalt (it doesn't open with the punch-down for me). I have experienced mild cramps with both my Saalts and the Peachlife, but I also feel cramps without them (I can end all cramps with Advil if it gets too bad). The cup that triggers the least amount of cramping for me is the smaller Saalt. All these cups have slightly raised lettering on the exterior, which may not be comfortable if you're more sensitive to that sort of thing.OVERALL: Both Peachlife and Saalt are good cups. They're just different. In using the Peachlife, I found that I had to spend more time adjusting after insertion, and I wasn't always sure that it was in properly. In the beginning, I could often feel the cup up there. I attribute much of this to it being my first cup and user error. Now that I have a better idea of what to do (thanks to training myself with Peachlife) the Saalt is a better fit for me and gives me more peace of mind. Still, I think Peachlife would be good for someone who needs a very soft or narrower cup. I've never experienced substantial leaks with any of them, but I still use pads as backup. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask. Choosing a cup is tough. There's a website and YouTube Channel called "Put A Cup In It" that was extremely helpful through my learning process -- I highly recommend it! (They won't review Peachlife products though).

I LOVE LOVE LOVE MY CUP
I wanted a way to become closer to zero-waste, and I saw that items in my bathroom, particularly, my menstrual products were generating a TON of waste. Not only that, but the products I was using were made with potentially harmful dyes and chemicals. I switched to organic tampons and pads, but still hated the waste, so I decided to give the cup and washable pads a try. First day I tried using my Saalt cup, I knew that I would never go back to tampons again! It may seem daunting to put one of these in, but I told my self that I put tampons in so this is basically the same thing when you squish it to insert it (FYI - I like the "7 fold" that the instructions describe to insert easily). After adjusting it a bit, I couldn't feel a thing - so comfortable to wear! Even better, I had no leakage with it after wearing it for the max 12 hours! As for cleaning, I use a gentle soap like CeraVe with hot water until it's clean. Then re-insert it or put in the cloth pouch it came with. After using it for a full cycle, I sanitized it with my "other cup brand" steaming sanitizer machine. That meant I didn't have to boil it in a cooking pot of mine. There also are options to buy silicone menstrual cup cups (yes, cup cups) that you can fill with water and your menstrual cup and microwave it so that you don't have to use a pan to boil it and it's more discrete. Essentially there are numerous ways to make sure that your cup is clean, so hygiene shouldn't ever be a concern. Also PS I would definitely recommend reusable cloth menstrual pads as liners too. I worry about leaks (even though it doesn't appear like I need to with this cup), and these are a much more eco method to eliminate menstrual related waste.I love my cup and wish I had done it sooner! 10/10

Finally found Goldilocks!
I had my doubts, but I finally have my Goldilocks cups! Previously used Fleur small and Lunette large most regularly. Liked the firmness of the Lunette because it made it easy to insert/open, but the prominent rim meant it was a bit uncomfortable sometimes while in and downright painful at others when removing (vaginismus doesn't make it easy either). It also frequently leaked. To the point that I would still need a pad at all times, even when changing 4-6 hrs during the day. Fleur was a lot more comfortable (except for the giant, ribbed stem), but so soft that it never seemed to open fully and would flatten inside me whenever I would lie down. So leaks. On first inspection of the Saalts, the silicon feels great--very high quality. The vent-hole angles are a bit extreme, so it may be a little harder to clean them out with each rinse, but no problems through the first several cycles of use. I was most worried about the stem--I am very stem-dependent to facilitate removal. Rather than raised ridges like the Lunette and Fleur, Saalt has engraved lines into the stem. Since the silicone can be slippery with regular use, I was afraid I wouldn't be able to get it out. Almost sent them back on sight, but so glad I decided to try them!Firmness is very similar to Lunette, so it's very easy to insert and open. Stays open and in place while sleeping and while active. But it feels much more comfortable in place because the rim isn't so harshly prominent and the very stem that I was worried about has no poke-y ridges. Removal has happily proven to be easy (and less painful) with the engraved grip lines on the stem, and the base of the cup is easier to grab, even with it's bell shape. Maybe it's because I have so many fewer leaks? Which is the best news of all--no longer need pads or Thinx to back up. Also don't need to try to empty every 4 hours to prevent leaks. Can go 6-8 hrs with the large cup on first day and 12 hours all others. Hadn't happened with the old cups thought the first 4 days.Saalt--you changed my life. Don't change a thing because you've perfected the menstrual cup!
