My skin and hair LOVES this stuff!!
Absolutely in love with this shea butter! I’ve been looking for some unrefined shea butter for quite a while because the store that I used to get mine from stopped carrying it and it was the only place in my area that I was able to find it. So when I saw this I was super excited because I’ve been looking for something like this for a while. The shea butter comes in a large plastic brown jar. The shea butter is solid so the jar feels heavy. The shea butter looks different in color and initial consistency that the other shea butter I used to buy. This one is lighter and has a creamier consistency than the other. But this one smells just the same and melts onto my skin the same way. This shea butter is nice and thick and melts onto you skin as you rub it in and leaves your skin feeling so soft and moisturized. This smells solely like pure shea butter. There and no additional or weird smells to shea butter so I’m sure it is exactly what the jar says it is.This shea butter is so multi-functional. I literally use this in/with/for everything. I’ve mixed it with some oils and made my own body butter/cream. I use it to seal in the moisturize on the ends of my hair. I used it in my homemade lip balms and I’m going incorporate it into some soaps soon. I love this shea butter. It’s really works so great and my skin completely loves it. You get a bunch of product so can use it in a bunch of ways and it will last you a long time. Shea butter is so great for your skin and body in so many ways. You really can’t go wrong with it. Especially in it’s purest form.Shea butter has been used to help heal burns, sores, scars, dermatitis, psoriasis, dandruff, and stretch marks. It may also help diminish wrinkles by moisturizing the skin, promoting cell renewal, and increasing circulation. Shea butter also contains cinnamic acid, a substance that helps protect the skin from harmful UV rays. Shea butter is a particularly effective moisturizer because contains so many fatty acids, which are needed to retain skin moisture and elasticity. The high fatty acid content of shea butter also makes it an excellent additive to soap, shampoos, anti-aging creams, cosmetics, lotions, and massage oils-its soft, butter-like texture melts readily into the skin. Shea butter protects the skin from both environmental and free-radical damage. It contains vitamins A and E, and has demonstrated both antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. Shea butter is already added to many cosmetic products, but you can also purchase 100 percent pure shea butter at most health food stores and from online distributors. Unrefined shea butter is superior in that it retains all its natural vitamins, especially vitamin A and vitamin E. However, the natural smell of shea can be a bit off-putting (stinky), though the aroma does disappear after it has been applied to your skin within minutes. You can also buy ultra-refined and refined shea butter. Both of these types are have a more pleasing scent, color, and consistency, although the refining process may diminish the vitamin potency. Shea Butter will provide improvement in all the conditions listed below. As you use this multi-purpose butter, you are likely to discover additional uses. The amount of time required for optimum results with various conditions may vary with each condition. Wrinkles, for example, require 4 to 6 weeks of daily use. Itching is relieved immediately. Good quality, fast shipping, economical. Will buy again!
Perfect! It came with a quality seal and the inside showed that it wasn't tampered with. Normally I get Shea Moisture shea butter but now that I live far from a Walgreens it isn't as convenient to buy. And getting it from Plant Guru was a way better deal!! Much more economical given the amount they sell in.The shea butter is hard but that's what I've come to expect with shea butter. Plus it stops me from grabbing a bunch. It melts really easily with my body heat after i scratch it out with my nail(recommend not scratching it under your nail, and scratching away from your body). The smell is slightly different from my usual brand, still that classic shea smell but a little bit more tree barky and less sweet. It doesn't smell awful to me and it's kind've pleasant. It's not an overpowering as a scent and you can barely smell it unless you hold it up to your nose. I'm also really happy that the texture is nice and smooth rather than the gritty, unmeltable kind you sometimes get with Shea moisture! The packaging is also lovely, and tough so I don't have to worry about the container breaking. And they ship quickly! I got mine in like 3-4 days after ordering 😊. 10/10 will buy again! Thanks Plant Guru!

Very nice mild-scented raw shea butter
I ordered this shea butter to make home made skin products. It's what I was looking for. It does not smell strong or bad like some raw shea butters. It has a very light, mild nutty scent which disappears when you make hand creams or add other scents. Not my experience with other shea butters. It's a natural yellow-white color and wonderful on the skin by itself. I want to use raw, rather than refined, shea butter in skin creams for its healing properties. My daughter first discovered this brand, and I just received my first jar. It is as consistent in quality and subtlety of scent as hers has been. I'm pleased and will be ordering more.

Not really shea butter
This has a waxy oily consistency and I think Id say pulpy as well. Keep in mind this is not really shea butter, but a similar African tree that also has beneficial properties for your skin. I mix it with coconut oil and other stuff to make my own skin care products. Feels greasy at first but skin stays soft all day. * * * Update - I still have a LOT of this stuff left and I really do like it. Mixing it with coconut oil and any essential oils you like over low heat on the stove helps with the grainy texture. I pour thru a fine mesh strainer into a small class jar and use it on my face after every shower. Takes some production but its good stuff!
