I waited to write a review till I had owned and used this can opener for a couple of weeks, and I am very happy with it. This can opener is The Boss. I have a lot of giant cans of food storage that have been around for fifty years, heavy duty #10 cans. (Prepping isn’t as recent as it seems—my parents were reacting to the Cold War, and food packed for storage was available to buy fifty years ago. But it didn’t all get eaten.). Nowadays, I’m older than the food, and get tendonitis in my hands, so I needed something that would open these huge cans so I can empty and recycle them. This can opener does the trick—it handles the heavy duty cans as easily as my regular can opener handles a tuna can. It does take practice to use it effectively—make sure your can is resting on a flat surface and crank slowly until you get the feel of it. But with a little practice, it works perfectly and without straining my fingers and hands.

Sorry baby girl this thing doesn't work... and i bought it like around 2 years ago.It was ok for the first day or so... then it had given me a hard time ever since!!!!!

The crank handle is a little long, so if I'm trying to open, say a can of vegetables, on the counter, my hand smacks the counter. I just move it closer to the edge. Other than that, it works great!

This is the third can opener I have bought in a month. The other 2 were so hard to use and usually did not cut through the whole can. One was a locking can opener and it was a joke. I did not have high hopes for this one but it is a dream. So smooth and easy to use. Hooks on to the can right away. The crank handle is so easy to use. So far I love it. Hopefully it will hold up for many years.
