Shining a light on The Book of Common Prayer
I really enjoyed this book. I learned quite a bit about the structure of the BCP, and some of the features I had questions about, such as the church calendar. For anyone who is interested in the Anglican liturgical tradition, this book is a great place to start.

Great book for anyone new to the BCP
I’m new to the Anglican Church and this book has been great explaining the Book of Common Prayer. I would suggest it to anyone new to using the BCP.

This is perfect for anyone new to the church or just hasn’t been in years or maybe converting from Roman Catholicism. Gives the structure for each prayer and the services as found in the Book of Common Prayer

Illuminating and Insightful
This book is the resource I've long been seeking. Bray and Keane clearly explain the contents of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer. They show how to use it for devotion and prayer. They explain its history and liturgical function. They invite the reader to explore its riches. Both illuminating and insightful, this book is outstanding. After being read and applied, it belongs on the shelf next to BCP!

Leads to a deeper understanding
How to Use the Book of Common Prayer is a resource every Anglican or Episcopalian should appreciate. While this volume uses the 1662 edition that is used in the Church of England, this reader found that the information given about the purposes of each reading designed to prepare the participants for the lessons and give guidance to a deeper understanding of scripture can be followed in all versions of the prayer book. The short history of how the Prayer book came to be is very interesting for readers who are unfamiliar with Henry VIII’s split with Rome, the beginnings of the Protestant revolution and the subsequent upheaval in the monarchy. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book from NetGalley. Most highly recommend.
