Dark Side of The Moon, doesn't everyone know of its brilliance?

Record is great and works perfectly, sound is pretty much identical to a digital version. Only small issue was that the sleeve was sealed too tight and it bulges slightly, but it is only a minor issue and didn't affect the record, which is all that matters.

Justifiable? Madness? I already possess the 30th-anniversary SHLV 804 pressing, the 1993 20th-anniversary CD, and numerous other format versions. So while I'm sick to see yet another release of what was a brilliantly recorded album originally, for me, it came down to this. Vinyl is the ONLY way to listen to Dark Side of the Moon. So, would I be happy sticking with the second-best recording of my favourite album ever, or get this?I coughed up and took the plunge. What did I find?Unlike the remix of Animals, this retains the same dynamics, I found I still listened to the same moments in the same way, but the clarity is the thing. It's like everything's been picked up, polished, and set back gleaming. Plus - and for audiophiles, this is something of a miracle - they've solved the distortion issue around 6 minutes into Us and Them which always drove me crazy. So the listening experience, like the album, has never been more harmonious or astonishing. But only... very slightly.Is it worth it, then? For anyone who already owns Dark Side on vinyl, all you're really paying for is that incremental improvement.To answer this, I will quote a certain tall motor journalist (you know who I mean) when reviewing the then-new Aston Martin DBS. He said to his mystified colleagues that it was like a DB9 where every little piece is a little bit better. He went on to conclude that you could never again choose to buy a DB9. In that instance, the price difference was £50k. Here it's less eye-watering, but the point remains. It's a lot of money for little gain. You'd have to be mad.But then I've always been mad, I know I've been mad...
